Hello and welcome! My name is Becca Carelock (she/her), and I am a neurodivergent, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in Ohio. I received my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northern Kentucky University. My therapeutic orientation at the core is humanistic, and I use acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and narrative therapy. I provide clients a safe, non-judgmental place to process their thoughts and feelings.
I deeply enjoy working with teenagers, young adults, and couples. Being a teenager and a young adult in our society is immensely hard today with so much pressure to make the right choices and often feeling like you aren’t allowed to make mistakes. During this time of our lives, we’re all trying to fit in and really discover our identity.
Everyone experiences challenges, and those challenges deeply impact us as humans. Like everyone, I have experienced my own struggles. I know what it’s like to feel so heavy you cannot get out of bed, so sad that nothing makes you happy anymore, and so overwhelmed that you feel lost, confused, and frustrated.
