Do you often have chronic treatment resistant anxiety and or depression? You might be over controlled. What is overcontrol you ask? Overcontrol or OC is having too much self control. Too much of anything can be problematic. Self-control is the ability to inhibit urges, impulses, behaviors, or desires to delay gratification in order to pursue a long term goal. Self control is often associated with success and happiness.
Treatment approaches offered would be Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO DBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Issues addressed-Eating Disorders, Depression, General Anxiety, Social Anxiety, Perfectionism, Self Harm, Grief, Suicidal Ideation, and Perinatal (pregnant and postpartum) mood disorders.
Disorders of over control include anorexia nervosa, chronic depression, treatment resistant anxiety disorders, avoidant, paranoid and obsessive-compulsive personality disorders. RO DBT also treats envy, bitterness, resentment, loneness, social isolation, compulsive fixing, and over thinking.

Pregnancy + Postpartum Skills class
Weekly 1 hour. $50 per class. 6 week course. This course has been designed to help moms learn to cope effectively with this new phase of life. Skills will be taught to help address anxiety and depression, along with the many emotions that are common during this time. Other topics that will be addressed will be body image, nutrition, sleep, asserting needs, and navigating the adjustment into motherhood.
