I work with families who are experiencing this kind of distance and escalations. My clients state that after our work together: they communicate better, feel more connected and 'in sync" with each other and are better able to meet each other's needs. I worked for many years in child and adolescent mental health clinics and then in a school for behaviorally challenged children. I completed a training program at the Ackerman Institute for the family. Most recently, I was certified in Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples (EFT) developed by Dr Susan Johnson.
I know how difficult it can be to reach out for help and to find the right therapist for you and your family. I will regularly check in during sessions to make sure you feel the therapy is helping. My goal with my clients is to help you and family members have new and different conversations in sessions so you will be able to do the same at home.
