About
I am a counselor who believes the counseling process is based on the relationship between client and therapist. I work very hard to hear what you are saying and to "get you." My role is not to tell you what to do, but to be with you on your journey of self-exploration and healing. I am passionate about my work and especially about those who have experienced trauma or who have been deeply affected by relational issues. As we work together, it is my hope that you will be able to move forward with greater perspective and less " baggage."
My method of practice is person-centered, psychodynamic and experiential. Therapeutic interventions are based on the individual's need and each client must be treated according to their needs. I utilize techniques that will enhance YOUR therapeutic experience. Because much of my work is around trauma, I utilize EMDR Therapy as my treatment of choice.
I am a mature adult who decided to become a counselor after having raised three children. I offer life experience and an understanding of the life struggles that individuals face. I have significant experience in the treatment of addiction and particularly enjoy working with those who have experienced abuse/trauma.
