These emotional and behavioral patterns seem unshakeable; they show up in relationships and keep you from feeling the joy and genuine connection you desire. You may be able to logically trace these patterns to an origin in childhood trauma or internalized oppression, but in the heat of the moment, it’s as if your body goes on autopilot, and the cycle repeats once again. These patterns have been creating stagnation and isolation that are getting too painful and exhausting to cope with anymore. As a therapist, my goal is to help you transform these patterns so that you can experience a greater sense of agency, belonging, and ease.
While the past can’t be changed, emotional wounds that are carried in the present can be healed. I support clients to gradually increase their ability to be with feelings while remaining grounded, which allows for new insight and paths to emerge. I believe that healing is being able to choose a path different from past trauma and move towards genuine desire.
I believe that healing is inherently political and spiritual, thus can't occur in a vacuum devoid of the environmental contexts and bodies we live in. Counseling is my primary tool to facilitate healing, and I love working with QTBIPOC, and anyone who longs to experience collective liberation. Find out if we're a good fit by scheduling a consult!
