Therapy is weird. It’s subjective and heady and brings up existential questions like: what even is therapy?! The short answer: therapy is whatever you want it to be. It’s your time to use how you want, whether that’s processing current life stressors, doing deeper trauma work, or just part of your self care routine. Often times it’s a mixture of all three. Non-linear.
I’m Basil. I’m a psychotherapist licensed in both NC & PA. My work is deeply informed by my 10 year career in disability services before becoming a therapist. Overall I hold 18 years experience in Carework, and I’m in my 8th year of experience as a psychotherapist.
My approach as a psychotherapist is most informed by the following theories and modalities: relational/psychodynamic, trauma informed, neuro affirming, liberation based practices, culturally affirming, harm reduction, polyvagal theory, and EMDR. I primarily work with adults and couples with marginalized identities (gender, disability, race, sexuality, etc).
My practice is warm, nonjudgemental, collaborative and non-pathologizing. I offer individual therapy, couples/relationship therapy, clinical supervision, EMDR intensives and Adult Autism & ADHD Assessments with written evaluations. Visit my website for more information. Thank you so much.
