Barbara Mooney
Clinical Social Work/Therapist, LCSW, CDWF
Finding the right therapist for YOU and the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors associated with positive therapy results. I place primary importance on our relationship providing an atmosphere of safety, warmth and understanding. While I have a wealth of professional and personal knowledge and expertise in individual and family recovery from addictions/compulsive behaviors, family of origin issues and life patterns that prevent authentic living, I do not approach the relationship as an "expert" but rather as a supportive guide who joins you on the journey.
I specialize in recovery from compulsive behaviors, depression, anxiety, personality disorder, trauma, and working with young adults and families around transition issues. I also assist in breaking free of constricting patterns that prevent wholehearted and authentic living. I specialize in all women's health and wellness issues, personal, spiritual growth.
I utilize family systems, DBT, CBT, psychodynamic,Schema and mindfulness. Also certified in the innovative work of Brene' Brown, Daring Way (TM) and Rising Strong (TM). I provide an invitational intervention approach for families to assist a loved one get help they need. I also offer a variety of groups.
