Barbara Meichner Doughty
Counselor, MS, LCPC
My work as a therapist has foundation in a strong and trusting client/counselor relationship grounded in compassion and non-judgment. Clients focus on work that encourages self-awareness through blends of strength based, traditional and holistic strategies including mindfulness. You will gain insight into feelings, learn to understand behavior and reduce emotional suffering and dissatisfaction so that your changes are lasting and positive. My trained therapy golden retriever is present in sessions to help soothe the client into the present moment, reduce stress, promote healing.
Equine Assisted Pyschotherapy benefits clients addressing trauma, depression, anxiety, and any life transition. Horses teach us to change patterns, widen perspective. Offered Summer and Fall at Hawkes Stable, North Bath. For more information please see my website at www.workofheart.net. Unavailable during the pandemic, possible restart in Spring 2021
Creating lasting change can be challenging, yet finding a good therapist can help you to develop courage, calm, clarity and purpose. Whether this is your first experience with therapy or have worked with others, together we will find a process that works best for you.
