There are times when a person simply needs a sanctuary in which one can focus on what is working and not working in life. Therapy is an ideal place for this type of reflection. My areas of passion lie within issues related to human diversity, including identity development, women's issues, sexual orientation, gender, and the effects of oppression/discrimination. Moreover, I am versed in mood disorders/emotional dysregulation, living with the aftermath of trauma, and families in transition (e.g., separation, divorce).
As a professional, I bring to you experience as a clinician and past academic. For over 20 years, I have had the privilege of working with people either in therapy or the university classroom. Being both a clinician and professor helps me stay abreast of current research relevant to your care.
