About
I work with adults in individual and couples therapy to help address the challenges of anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief and loss, divorce, and relationship problems. I believe that psychotherapy is collaborative and that the relationship between the therapist and client is essential to the process of change. I work to develop this relationship through gaining a deep understanding and respect for each individual and their unique circumstances.
I work with couples to grow relationship skills that help shift them out of recurring patterns, build communication, and empathically manage conflict. Part of this process involves understanding the influence of family of origin on couple dynamics. This allows couples to move out of conflict and into a deeper and more meaningful connection.
I have training in Emotion Focused therapy, the Developmental Model, and Gottman therapy techniques. In individual therapy, I draw from psychodynamic, narrative, and interpersonal approaches within a systems framework. I weave my extensive training in mindfulness meditation into all of my work.
