About
It's tough to be a kid or teen right now and it's tough to parent a kid or teen. The more motivated a young person and their family are to improve, the more successful we are in therapy. It will go best when everyone is (1) honest enough to really get to know themselves, (2) empathetic enough to care about the effects their choices and actions have on others, and (3) brave enough to do things differently so they can feel better, have healthier relationships, and enjoy more successes.
I help children, tweens, teens, and families to identify their own values, needs, interests, strengths, and supports. Using the values as our foundation and building on current strengths, we first figure out what's working well and then what isn't. We make an individualized plan and follow it to meet needs, engage interests, and build on successes.
It can help a lot to have the support and insights of a seasoned professional in your corner, someone who has the education and experience of working with thousands of young people (ages 2-21) and those who love them. I can help you make sense out of what's happening now and we can work together to make things better. Your choices always are up to you.
