As a solution-focused trauma therapist, I'm able to help work in two areas of the brain to quickly and effectively help you to resolve underlying issues that are resulting in symptoms of depression , anxiety, addiction and relationship problems.
Have you been feeling stressed? Overwhelmed? Exhausted? You may feel stuck and frustrated. Your life may be becoming unmanageable. You may think that you should be able to handle this yourself. You feel like you've tried everything to feel better and may even wonder if you'll feel normal again. You're probably thinking "there's got to be more to life than this." And...you're absolutely right!

I use several proven programs to specifically address the Highly Sensitive person as well as focusing on anxiety and depression .
Do you easily get over stimulated? Do people say you are too sensitive? Do you think and feel deeply? Are you aware of things around you that others are not? Does it take you longer to make a decision and then you worry if you have made the right decision? These things can be both good things and a problem at times. At times they can lead to depression or anxiety and other times they can be your greatest assets. Maybe you don't feel that these things could ever be your greatest asset so you need some help to realize that goal.

People come into counseling for many reasons. You may be overcome with insecurity, paralyzed with anxiety, or chronically depressed . Perhaps your relationships are a mess, your life feels out of control. You cut yourself to feel something other than emptiness, you drink to numb your pain. Life doesn't have to be this hard. There is hope and you can heal. You already have everything inside of you that you need in order to heal but somehow you have lost track of this truth. Life has led you away from your innate ability to heal. Counseling can help you reconnect with this ability and restore balance and peace to your life.

Many of us face times in life when we don't understand what is happening in our lives and why we feel and think the things we do. This is an absolutely normal experience. I am trained to help discover, learn, and guide folks through a path of self discovery and transformation. I take on issues of past traumas; current conflicts at home and work; those living with the experiences of addiction and/or mental health disorders. My philosophy is help teach folks to find more connection and less division within themselves and learn to be present to what they really, really want out of life. Licensed to serve clients in NC, SC, & NY.

You’re looking for help because you’re pretty sure your past is intruding on your present. You’re reacting in ways that aren’t helpful. Your situation would probably be difficult for anyone, but you’re pretty sure that your past is making it more difficult than it needs to be. You can see where this is going, and it’s a trip you’d rather not take. But it seems like no matter how hard you try you end up doing the same things again and again and again… You CAN stop. You can give up the wrong relationships, the destructive patterns, the addictions, the anger, the trauma from your past.

Depression Therapists
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
