My clients are women who are high-achieving, self-aware, and quietly exhausted. They are the ones who hold everything together, at work, in their relationships, in their families, while something underneath has been asking for attention for a while. They come in navigating burnout, anxiety, perfectionism, and the kind of transitions that shake your sense of self. Some are in the thick of reproductive health experiences like pregnancy, postpartum, PMDD, pregnancy loss. Some are college-aged and figuring out who they are outside of achievement. What they all share is a readiness to stop managing and start feeling.

Warm and open, my therapeutic style is grounded in curiosity and compassion. I work to transform typical therapeutic spaces into empowering environments that cultivate inner-knowing and greater connection. Mujer, life is hard... On the outside, you may seem fine—but inside you feel overwhelmed, tired, or disconnected from yourself. You’ve spent years being the strong one—holding it all together for everyone else. But lately, it feels heavier. Harder. You might even be wondering, “Why can’t I handle things like I used to?” Between cultural expectations, family roles, and life, it can feel lonely. I see you, and you don’t have to carry this alone. Therapy can be your space to breathe, feel supported, and begin to come back to yourself.

When we can trust who we are and experience a sense of safety within us, regardless of what shows up to challenge us in the outside world, we begin opening to life in a way that offers us true joy and peace. Your body has the inherent wisdom needed for that kind of healing. I work with women and non-binary folx, and fit best with those seeking something different from traditional talk therapy. I provide an empathic and safe environment in which clients who seek to understand themselves further can explore who they are, free from judgment or criticism, and expand their capacity to tolerate difficulties they may encounter.

How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.
How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.
How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
