You are both the leader and driving force of your life. What do you want and need? What brings you joy, pleasure, and peace amidst large-scale and personal chaos? What changes are you willing to make? What do you value most? I welcome the opportunity to walk with you as you determine your answers and the questions themselves. I believe in the importance of authentic human connection and "goodness of fit" when it comes to a therapeutic relationship. I wish you the best as you wade through therapist profiles looking for someone who might be a good fit - it is a huge act of self love, and you deserve it.

I believe everyone experiences challenges and difficult seasons in life. My approach combines emotional support with practical strategies, because meaningful growth often requires both. Together, we look beyond surface-level symptoms to better understand the underlying patterns affecting your thoughts, emotions, and relationships. I strive to create a space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered while building the insight and tools needed to move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and lasting change.

Do you feel taken advantage of and like no matter what you do, you can't win? Are you a victim of emotional, verbal or physical abuse? Do you love someone who is caught up in the pain of addiction or mental illness? Have you tried everything you can think of but have no idea how to help or what else to do? Are you afraid your partner, spouse, adult child or other loved one will end up in jail, or worse? I get it. Maybe you're just mad. Maybe you're tired of having to handle everything yourself. I get that too.

Some of my clients arrive at their lowest point, overwhelmed, dysregulated, and unsure things can ever feel okay again. I work with young people ages 6–17 and adults navigating trauma, emotional crisis, and the kind of pain that's hard to put into words. But beneath every difficult behavior is a person who wants to be heard, to feel safe, and to believe that something better is possible. Their families want answers, reassurance, and a team that actually sees them. I bring consistency, compassion, and practical tools to every session, not just to get through the crisis, but to build something that holds up long after it passes.

I believe therapy should be a space where you feel safe, heard, and truly understood. Reaching out isn't always easy, and I respect the courage it takes to begin. My style is warm, genuine, and collaborative. I create a space where you can show up as you are - without judgement, and better understand yourself, your patterns, and what you need to feel more grounded and fulfilled. I believe the relationship we build is what makes therapy meaningful. My goal is for you to feel supported, comfortable, and able to grow at your own pace.

How does therapy for suicidal ideation work?
Stress, depression, anxiety, or upsetting circumstances can give rise to suicidal thinking. Therapy can address the events at the core of an individual’s suffering. Understanding why a person may be suicidal can help the therapist and the patient discover alternative methods of coping. A person with suicidal ideation may be mired in catastrophic thinking, and treatment like cognitive behavioral therapy is a good choice for breaking such patterns. In addition, treatment such as acceptance and commitment therapy can help a person manage their distress through better emotion regulation.

Which therapies are best for suicidal ideation?
Specific approaches used by professionals include cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavior, psychodynamic, acceptance and commitment therapies, among others. Cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavior therapies are two widely used therapies that can help individuals with painful thoughts and past traumas. These therapies help an individual tolerate distress, regulate emotions, and not act on dangerous urges.

Are there specific medications to be combined with therapy?
The use of medication for suicidal thoughts must be aligned with the underlying cause; conditions such as depression, anxiety, and psychosis may be at the root of suicidal ideation. A psychiatrist may prescribe medications for symptoms, which may include antipsychotics such as aripiprazole or antidepressants such as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors.

How often and how long are therapy sessions for suicidal ideation?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual. Patients may see improvement within 15 to 20 sessions, at an average of 50 minutes per session, while others may opt for 20 to 30 sessions over, perhaps, a six-month period. Still other patients, especially those with co-occurring conditions like major depression and anxiety, may need to continue sessions for up to 12 to 18 months. In some cases, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm.
