Sex-positive, I cherish relationship as an intimate dance in which mutual partnership depends on curiosity, vulnerability, play and growth.
I am an AASECT certified Sex Therapist with a whole-bodied/somatic and sex-positive approach to therapy with individuals and couples. Embodiment while relating is an invitation into more authentic and intimate relationship. While talk-therapies prioritize talking (a top-down approach), I sometimes interweave somatic practice: breathing, sensing and moving.

I have a passion for working with individuals, families, and couples on a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, addiction/substance abuse, life transitions, personal growth, school difficulties, relationship conflict and communication, parent-teen relationships, men's health, sexuality, grief, overcoming trauma/abuse, and spiritual conflicts.
For 17 years, I have successfully worked with people to gain insight and create positive patterns of behavior to repair broken relationships, heal from past abuse/trauma, overcome addiction of all kinds, break free from anxiety and depression, and achieve greater life satisfaction. I strive to create a safe, comfortable, non-judgmental environment for clients to feel understood and accepted. I often use stories from my life experiences as a youth pastor, Jr. High teacher, and married father of three. The most common positive comment I receive from clients is that they always leave having learned something new.

For couples, I integrate sex therapy with the Gottman Method for a more holistic, enriching relationship.
Life doesn't always go the way we envisioned it would. Sometimes we can handle life's curveballs, but sometimes we need some guidance to do so. Whether relationships aren't going well, our job or school isn't enjoyable and fulfilling, we feel different or overwhelmed after a new baby, something inside of us doesn't feel quite right, or we just want to discover who we are, a therapist can support and guide us through whatever is keeping us from living the life we want. Therapy can help with a wide range of issues like trauma, anxiety, depression, career, family/relationship problems, affairs, communication issues, and many more.

As an individual and couples therapist, I often work with people desiring more or different out of their relationships, as well as clients looking for support related to sex, sexuality, and sexual trauma.
Warm and open, my therapeutic style is grounded in curiosity and compassion. I work to transform typical therapeutic spaces into empowering environments that cultivate inner-knowing and greater connection. I work from humanistic and feminist theoretical orientations, meaning that I'm relational and collaborative as a therapist. I believe trust is built and shame diminished when we’re met with authentic connection. I work with individuals and people in relationships working toward greater embodiment, connection, and healing. Many of my clients want to strengthen self-trust, grow their relational skills, and navigate life transitions.

Additionally, I am working toward certification in sex therapy and am a Certified Therapeutic Gamemaster.
One of my core beliefs is that all of us deserve space to connect and play in a way that allows us to show up as our whole selves. Connecting with that joy can feel daunting when communication no longer feels reliable or we're struggling to identify what brings us that sense of excitement. Through collaboration and transparency, I aim to create an affirming space that fosters growth and embraces all your identities.

Who is sex therapy for?
Sex problems are common in relationships. Many people want a better sex life and want to feel loved and desired by their partner. It is difficult for couples to resolve sexual problems on their own because people often feel ashamed to talk about their sexual desires fearing they are not normal, when in fact a very broad range of preferences and behaviors are normal. A sex therapist can help clarify this and other matters.
Why do people need sex therapy?
Many people do not know how to talk about their erotic needs or their emotional needs, both of which are addressed in sex therapy. Couples often live with sexual difficulties for years before seeking help, and in that time, partners may experience so much disappointment and alienation that they may fear their problems mean they are incompatible. Once people experience disappointment, it is difficult to find resolution without help.
What happens in sex therapy?
People have many misconceptions about what takes place in sex therapy. First, it is a form of talk therapy in which partners discuss their sexual concerns; it does not involve touching or physical exploration of any kind. Sex therapy typically helps couples get comfortable talking to each other about sex so that, in the privacy of their home life, they can openly discuss their sexual desires and make decisions about what they want to do. Couples are typically assigned activities to do at home that build intimacy skills.
What kinds of problems do sex therapists treat?
Very often, partners differ in their degree of sexual desire and struggle over how often to have sex. Or they may have fights about porn use or have difficulty connecting sexually after one partner is unfaithful. Men may have problems with premature ejaculation. Women may find themselves struggling to become aroused or to achieve an orgasm. Sometimes partners feel like they have lost the sense of attraction to their partner. These are all common issues dealt with in sex therapy.
