Whether that’s Inference-based therapy (I-CBT), Exposure (ERP), Metacognitive Therapy, or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) With evidence-based approaches and years of specialized training in anxiety and OCD, I help people reclaim their lives.
Picture this: you’ve been going to therapy for years. You’ve tried everything—talking through your feelings, practicing relaxation, following every piece of advice. And yet, the anxiety is still there. Day after day, it lingers like an uninvited guest. You start to wonder: What’s wrong with me? Why isn’t this working?
If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone. About 4% of adults, and nearly 1 in 10 young people between 11 and 24, live with anxiety or related disorders. And many of them share the same painful question—Why am I not getting better?

I specialize in working with HSPs/Empaths, those on the spiritual path, those who have suffered from narcissistic abuse/gaslighting and those diagnosed with OCD.
Navigating an increasingly complex and demanding world can leave many of us feeling overwhelmed, anxious, disordered and depressed. We carry within our hearts a deep yearning for soulful purpose, inner tranquility and intimate connection but often feel we are just surviving. My greatest passion is to help people find their power; to teach them to creatively work with their inner and outer lives; and to aid them in detaching from toxic relationships and patterns, drawing supportive boundaries and expressing themselves and their gifts within the world.

Hello! My name is Jacob Benites, and I’d love to accompany you on your journey toward a more fulfilling life. If your mind feels like a relentless critic, if anxiety keeps you stuck in overthinking and self-doubt, you’re not alone. I love helping people untangle from anxious thoughts, connect with their values, and move toward meaningful change. Therapy isn’t about “fixing” you, because you aren’t broken. It’s about learning to work with your mind, rather than against it, so you can be fully present in your life and create a future that aligns with who you truly are.

How long does OCD treatment take?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.
What happens if OCD is not treated?
Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.
Are there medications for OCD?
Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.
Can OCD come back after treatment?
Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
