I care deeply about the people I work with. My approach is warm, interactive, and oftentimes fun—because healing doesn’t have to feel heavy all the time. I believe in blending validation with real tools for change, using evidence-based techniques in a way that feels natural and empowering. You’ll feel truly heard, supported, and cared for.

At one time or another, you may have considered therapy while undergoing stress; in a lonely place; or overwhelmed with life.
I bring my 15 years of experience as a professional counselor, along with my years of experience as an educator to guide you on your path inward unraveling hurts, fears and joys. For some, you may seek a deeper kind of therapy beyond talk therapy called depth therapy. The unconscious or “soul” is explored through dreams, images, and symbols.

going one’s own way, and all the other challenges and choices that life presents?
My style is active and straightforward. I encourage clients to think about therapy as an educational process in which they are hiring me–and potentially firing me--as a consultant to help them understand better what’s happening in their lives and how they can have more control over it.

Therapy is not lightly undertaken and often begins at very difficult life stages.
Each person is unique, as is each situation. I gear my individualized approach to your needs, whether it be life crises, trauma/ abuse, depression or dissociative disorders. I will teach you tools to help in your healing. Dreams are often a key to understanding the psyche, and can be very important in this healing work.

Also I like to work with patients in a life changing situation with their adult children or employment-related decisions.
Absolutely, many persons today are facing challenges like depression and anxiety. Self-reflection can be a powerful tool in this journey toward recovery. By taking the time to understand our thoughts and feelings, we can change negative thoughts and focus on the positive aspects of our personalities by changing how to respond to challenges. The idea that "two heads think better than one" also highlights the importance of seeking support, whether from therapists, friends, or family. Engaging in conversations about our experiences can give us a new way to see our world learning new coping strategies. That is therapy main goal.

I especially enjoy helping adolescents and young adults experiencing identity issues and challenging life transitions.
I believe that individual psychotherapy can help clients more fully understand themselves, which in turn makes change more possible. I connect with my clients as empathically as possible, as I believe that the quality of the therapeutic relationship is very important in psychotherapy. When working with couples and families, I use a family systems approach.

Conventional, one-size-fits-all therapeutic models lack authenticity, in stark contrast with the uniqueness of individual life.
Imparting healing without wisdom is like installing a strong door on a house where thieves come through the window. During my 20 years of US and Australia counseling, I recognized that clients left treatment feeling they had learned useful skills, yet, in the long run, many expressed they were no better off after conventional treatment.
