Hi. Come talk about what matters to you most. Together, we walk. Explore. Clarify. I’m deeply commitment to the human experience and will help you feel better. I support widowed people, work deeply with those struggling with addiction, overcoming trauma, relationships, questions about polyamory, depression or abuse. If life has lost its meaning & you’re missing adventure, intimacy, greater self-expression and passion, let’s go. If you don’t talk about it, it won’t get better. I’m supportive, alternative, warm and kind. You’ll feel comfortable, challenge thoughts and perceptions preventing you from getting out of your own way.

I see wonderful results with the unique Unified Mindfulness System that I incorporate into my work. I bring to my work my own personal healing of a serious binge eating disorder/sugar addiction and other issues of suffering. I am also a researcher and involved with neuroscientists at the University of Arizona SEMA Lab and the Medical University of South Carolina, researching my innovative addiction/negative behavior change protocol. I have worked with seemingly hopeless individuals who have transformed their lives with my therapeutic approach. I offer my services out of a great sense of passion and deepest gratitude.

In the 20+ years I've worked in the helping profession, I've been honored to walk with many individuals on their personal paths of self discovery. Bearing witness to their journeys has inspired me on my own path, both professionally and personally. I have found my interest concentrated on Human Sexuality. My intention is to provide an open and safe environment for individuals to explore concerns and questions related to aspects of their sexuality and gender expression. By exploring how this impacts one's personal experience, close relationships and lives, insight can be gained and self esteem improved. Areas of focus include:

My ideal clients are individuals seeking greater self-understanding while managing challenges such as OCD, anxiety, and performance-related stress. Many are athletes or first responders who are accustomed to staying strong for others but feel overwhelmed by intrusive thoughts, perfectionism, or self-doubt. They want relief from exhausting mental patterns, tools to regulate emotions, and clarity about who they are beyond their roles. Together, we focus on building resilience, confidence, and lasting change so they can live in alignment with their values—both personally and professionally.

Hoarding Therapists
What is the most effective treatment for hoarding?
Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) has been well-studied in the treatment of hoarding. This type of therapy includes changing beliefs surrounding possessions, as well as learning how to discard items and reduce acquisitions. The hoarder may also gain much-needed organizational skills. Another useful therapy may be compassion-focused therapy, which can address emotion regulation and negative self-perception.

How long does therapy for hoarding take?
Although treatment can vary, most people demonstrate improvement after 23 sessions, with some showing improvement after just a few sessions. Researchers have developed a 26-session cognitive behavioral program. People who hoard may need “maintenance” sessions over the years if the problem arises repeatedly.

Are there medications for hoarding?
The more commonly-prescribed medications for hoarding are including antidepressants, including selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), and serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs). This can include drugs such as venlafaxine and paroxetine. And because hoarding disorder is related to obsessive-compulsive disorder, medications for OCD, such as clomipramine, may be effective for hoarding as well.

Can hoarding come back after treatment?
Hoarding is a chronic disorder and it can last throughout an individual’s lifetime. Regularly checking in with a psychotherapist can help manage symptoms long-term. A good therapist will help the person learn needed skills including decision-making, organization, and stress reduction. The patient will gain a better perspective and the need to cling to useless items will lessen.
