Supporting first responders and their families is more than a professional focus, it’s personal. As the spouse of a law enforcement officer, I understand the unique challenges that come with this lifestyle: unpredictable schedules, high-stress environments, and the delicate balance of family life. Raising two children while navigating these realities has given me a deep appreciation for the resilience required and the support that makes a difference.

I began as a teacher and since 2018 have worked as a therapist. My clientele have come from diverse backgrounds. I've worked with my clients at resolving symptoms of depression and/or anxiety. Often these symptoms have resulted from trauma. I believe that there are unique and important aspects to every person and that this requires a tailored approach for treatment. I particularly enjoy working with adolescents and young adults. My areas of clinical interest include parenting, trauma resolution, and the development of positive coping skills.

My training is eclectic, including TA, Gestalt, Guided Imagery, CBT, Mindfulness meditation, and EMDR.
My interest is helping my clients work through trauma, big or small, recent or past. We all experience life changes, some with joy and some with sadness and regret. I use careful listening, affirmation, and skills from CBT, EMDR, and mindfulness to help guide insight and acceptance, leading to change.

The process of seeking help can be rough and it’s normal to have fears about trusting someone new to discuss difficult topics. However, it is also moments like this that provide us the opportunity for lasting transformation. Challenging times in our lives offer the potential to create lifelong change through abandoning unhelpful patterns of living, which were formed in our personal histories. Life is full of challenging transitions, and it can be experienced as emotionally overwhelming. In these moments, we can reconnect with our internal compass in our path to healing.

My ideal client may be an adult seeking either individual or couple’s therapy. They may be navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, mood disorders, or life transitions. They want to feel understood, supported, and equipped with tools to cope and grow. Their goals often include finding stability, healing from past wounds, improving relationships, and reclaiming their sense of self so they can live a more authentic and fulfilling life.

Modalities include DBT, CBT, IFS, Gestalt, and MST.
The work often begins in a moment of transition—burnout, grief, a shift in identity or relationship to self. Many who find this space are helpers, deep feelers, or those who’ve been carrying more than their share for a long time. There’s often a longing to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with what’s been quieted. Sessions hold space for meaning-making, nervous system repair, and relational healing. This isn’t about fixing—it’s about returning. To what’s true, what’s needed, and what’s been waiting.

Are you too fatigued, worried, depressed or unable to fall asleep? Are you grieving or experiencing painful flashbacks and overwhelming emotions? Is mind racing and feel that you don't fit in the world, anymore? Are you feeling hopeless and helpless? Conventional, one-size-fits-all therapeutic models lack authenticity, in stark contrast with the uniqueness of individual life. I'm an Esotherapist(tm) and Australian Level 4 Registered Counselor (LPC equivalent) living in US and specializing in PTSD, depression, anxiety/panic, grief, addictions, relationships, existential and identity crises. I am also a clinical hypnotherapist, NLP practitioner and life-coach.

What if the pain you’ve worked so hard to manage is the very thing keeping you stuck? Are you a high achiever who looks successful on the outside, yet still feels weighed down by anxiety, emotional exhaustion, or patterns you can’t seem to break? You’ve done the work. You’ve powered through. And still — something isn’t shifting the way you know it should. I specialize in working with results-driven individuals who are ready to stop surviving and start feeling better — not someday, but now.

Sometimes, situations and feelings are too much to bear alone. In therapy, you have a chance to be heard, to be seen and valued, and to express your deepest feelings. With a gentle and compassionate presence, I create a safe place for you to go within and find the core of who you are--and from that place, be guided. With a nonjudgmental and caring outlook, I invite awareness, acceptance, and appreciation of all emotions and their expression, including the difficult ones, giving them room to BE, and then they can change.

What is gestalt therapy?
Gestalt therapy is based on the idea that to address unresolved negative feelings, emotions must be not only discussed but also actively expressed in the present moment. The term is from a German word meaning “whole,” and gestalt therapists believe that people should be considered whole entities made up of mind, body, and emotions. Gestalt sessions are rooted in the notion that a client’s total self must be discovered, explored, and confronted, so that they can take greater responsibility for themselves and their behavior, learn to satisfy their own needs while still respecting the needs of others, and reconnect with feelings they might otherwise deny.

How does gestalt therapy work?
Gestalt therapy sessions do not just involve talking with a therapist. Clients may take part in role-playing, re-enactment, or artistic exercises like drawing and painting, with the goal of becoming more aware of negative thought patterns that limit happiness. One common gestalt exercise is “the empty chair,” in which a client sits across from an empty chair representing a partner, relative, boss, or a part of themselves—and, with the therapist’s encouragement, improvises a dialog with it. The intention is to bring the emotions raised by past conflicts into the present and work through them in the moment.

How long does gestalt therapy last?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for gestalt therapy; people who believe that they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that had been holding them back. New patients should understand that it may take some time to become comfortable with gestalt exercises but once they do, they should expect sessions to extend for a number of months, typically spanning at least 12 sessions.

Does gestalt therapy work?
Gestalt therapy has generally been found to be as effective as other forms of talk therapy in helping people living with anxiety, depression, phobias, bipolar disorder, and substance use disorders, as well as helping individuals reduce conflict in relationships. Gestalt techniques, on their own or in combination with other therapies, can also be effective in managing physical ailments including ulcerative colitis, migraines, and back spasms. It should be noted that some people may have trouble adapting to gestalt therapy’s lack of formal structure or to a therapist’s close observations of their body language and emotions; others may struggle to commit to techniques that feel unnatural, like the empty chair exercise.
