I work with people using a variety of philosophies, but humanistic and psychodynamic theories inform most of my practice. I am most interested in focusing on emotions, insight, relationships, past experiences, meta-emotion (one’s feelings about emotions), self-worth, authenticity, fantasies, and the unconscious. I rely heavily on discussing shame, vulnerability, emotional needs, and creating meaning in life. I find, as Carl Rogers did, that unconditional positive regard from the therapist allows a person to process feelings; acknowledge existential truths; develop a more free, authentic self; and have more meaningful relationships.

Feeling stressed, anxious, or overwhelmed? I specialize in treating PTSD, OCD, GAD, Panic Disorder, social anxiety, depression, and co-occurring addictions or habits. I take a cognitive approach and use Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) and other evidence-based energy psychology and other evidence-based therapy to process trauma and deactivate obsessions, worries, urges, negative thoughts (even suicidal ideation) and reduce emotional reactivity substantially. EFT can also support pain relief as a complementary method. I also use EMDR incorporated into EFT or use both. I have 50 hours of training each in EFT, TF-CBT, and EMDR.

Maybe you’ve been pushing through, but something feels off. You might feel a kind of restlessness, anxiety, or numbness that’s hard to name. You want to understand yourself better, not just cope. You’re craving clarity, direction, and a steadier relationship with your own mind. Rather than quick fixes, you want real insight and a place to slow down enough to hear yourself think.

My focus is to work with the LGBTQIA+ community to cultivate joy in who you are.
Taking the first step into therapy can be overwhelming, and I'm happy to be here with you! Therapy should be a collaborative environment, allowing you to find your voice and thrive. We will work together to identify holistic coping skills for you to find inner balance. In the therapy space, we will rely on your identified strengths along with evidence-based processing therapies to support your journey. My primary focus is supporting those who have been through trauma by processing memories and building empowerment.

Maybe life feels like a train wreck (or, worse yet, dull and boring) at the moment, but with some help: you've got this. I work with women, especially, who are quietly considering making life changes and are learning not to fear "upset" on their ways to living freely as the beautiful gifts to the universe each of us is! Time to learn to love everything about you-- you deserve an engaging and joyful life. While therapy can be scary, plan on laughing a lot if you're working with me to discover how liberating it is to live authentically. As an advanced level ETT™ specialist, I'm again offering emergency and rapid resolution of PTSD.

I am a non-binary, transgender person who strongly values being a part of queer community.
Maybe you're feeling stuck in the same cycles you can't seem to break out of. Maybe you're struggling to maintain relationships that feel safe and supportive. Maybe you know that you've been impacted by the painful experiences you've had, but you don't know where to start with unpacking them. It can be scary to face your pain, and you deserve support. You're not too much, and you're not alone. I want to support you with deepening your self-understanding and self-compassion. Healing is possible when you're ready to start.

Waitlist for new clients
I currently have a waiting list. - In a world that feels increasingly uncertain, divided, and overwhelming, it’s easy to feel emotionally drained, afraid, or unsure how to move forward. The weight of trauma, chronic pain, and societal stress can leave you feeling disconnected or exhausted. Maybe you're longing to feel more present, more alive—but instead, you're just trying to get through the day. If you're wrestling with old wounds, grief, or feelings of isolation, you're not alone. I help people like you reclaim your strength, understand what’s keeping you stuck, and move toward a life rooted in clarity and meaning.

What is it like to be you right now? This question begins our work together. The decision to begin therapy is often because something inside and/or outside of us has become too much— too heavy, overwhelming, chaotic, repetitive, isolating, frustrating, stressful, heartbreaking or angering. I offer attentive, honest and individualized therapy where we will explore the ways your emotional and internal experiences (including stress, irritation, overwhelm, internal conflicts, unconscious dynamics, etc) connect to your early life, the here and now, your relationship to self and others and your specific contexts (identity, culture, etc).

Love. Joy. Ecstasy. Awe. In my 19 years of clinical experience, I’ve discovered that we all have far more capacity for these expansive feelings than we realize. Whether you’re contending with emotional challenges, or feel ready to fly through the stars, I can work with you collaboratively to shape a life that fulfills your highest dreams, and maybe even soars beyond them. I’m eager to share what I’ve learned about our abilities to break out of old patterns of pain, fear, and shame into fruitful creativity and communion with the most inspiring aspects of being alive.

You may feel stuck in patterns you understand intellectually but can’t seem to shift. Maybe you’re carrying the effects of past experiences or trauma, noticing anxiety, emotional overwhelm, disconnection from your body, or a sense that parts of you are in conflict. You might be high-functioning on the outside while feeling exhausted, numb, or unsettled on the inside. Often, the people I work with want more than coping strategies. They’re looking to feel safer in their own bodies, to understand themselves with more compassion, and to move through life with greater choice rather than reactivity. At its core, the goal is to heal.

LGBTQ+ Therapists
Do LGBTQ-affirmative therapists receive special training?
Yes. Many therapists who practice LGBTQ-affirmative therapy have completed specialized training, either during their degree program or as continuing education, to learn the core principles of affirmative therapy and how to best support their LGBTQ clients; some have received certifications in LGBTQ-affirmative therapy. Prospective clients should inquire as to a clinician’s background and training to ensure a good fit.

Why might I want to see an LGBTQ-affirming or LGBTQ-friendly therapist?
Queer and gender-non-conforming individuals frequently experience bias and marginalization in day-to-day life. Working with a therapist who understands these unique challenges, as well as accepts and affirms their identity, can help LGBTQ clients feel safe and supported during therapy—allowing them to better navigate their relationships, mental health, and anything else that they wish to explore during therapy. It is important to note that many therapists can be effective in their work with LGBTQ+ individuals, even in the absence of specific training or background knowledge. The most important component in therapy is the alliance between therapist and client, and this alliance can exist between individuals with very different backgrounds.

How can I find an LGBTQ-friendly therapist?
You may wish to inquire about a therapist’s expertise with your specific challenges or concerns—depression, for example, or relationship strife—as well as their past experiences treating LGBTQ+ clients. Prospective clients may also ask whether a therapist has obtained additional training and/or certification in LGBTQ-affirmative techniques.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience with LGBTQ issues?
Prospective clients should feel empowered to directly ask therapists whether they have received training or been certified in LGBTQ-affirming therapy; competent therapists will be happy to explain their educational background and preferred approach(es) to help a client find the best match for them. Clients may also wish to ask how a therapist has treated clients with their particular challenges in the past and what they expect treatment to look like.

Are all the therapists listed in the LGBTQ directory themselves members of the LGBTQ community?
While therapists may choose to disclose their sexual orientation or gender identity in their profiles, the LGBTQ directory features not only those who have shared this information but also those who assert specialized training or experience in providing support to queer individuals, couples or families.
