Dr. Gleave has immediate openings available. "Hello, I help couples mend old wounds, become more effective at addressing what comes up presently, and start doing more of the things that result in lasting happiness together. My approach is based on research to ensure sessions are focused on what actually works. As you may already know, not all couples therapy is created equal. Speaking from extensive experience on both sides of the clipboard, I know there is hope for improving your relationship even if you've tried many times before with little success. And if you're new to this, let's get it right the first time!"

In-person Available! I primarily work with narcissistic abuse survivors as well as empaths and HSP's (which are typically targeted by narcissists). I also work with couples who feel they are in toxic dynamics and feel stuck. This life is hard but having someone who you can talk to is so helpful and I communicate with my clients, not stare at you and expect you to do all talking! I promise you that even when it feels like you just can't do it anymore.. you really can! I personally have experienced much of life's hardships but I'm grateful for that because it gave me the opportunity to help so many others!

Making the decision to change is difficult. Emotional growth does not come easy but we all have choices to make: living by default is not really living. I have over 25 years of experience in the mental health field, practicing in a variety of settings and collaborating with many different disciplines. Everyone of us has a story to tell. I believe in human greatness but understand the challenges posed by our human condition. We are all unique and our quests and journeys are different; however, the search for connection and meaning are universal. I encourage action and purposeful steps. Please call or email to schedule appointment.

in May 2003, I attended a postdoctoral residency in clinical/ forensic psychology and became a licensed psychologist in September 2004.
Just as you visit physicians for preventive care, you can meet with a psychologist to address issues before they become problematic. This proactive approach encourages the development of psychological health. People are in good psychological health when they make good decisions, manage stress well, communicate effectively, have healthy relationships, and take good care of themselves emotionally and physically. Let me work with you to establish and maintain your optimal psychological health. We can do that through the use of therapy and/or psychological testing, as I specialize in both forms of treatment.

Forensic Psychology Therapists

How does forensic psychology work?

Forensic psychology works by providing those in the legal system with expert information about psychology and behavior that they wouldn’t otherwise have. Forensic psychologists do this through a range of services—conducting psychological assessments for court cases, assisting police officers with investigations, providing expert opinion, helping with mediation, and providing mental health care to victims or perpetrators of crimes.

Can a forensic psychologist help with child custody cases?

Yes. In the event that it’s needed, an attorney or judge may appoint a forensic psychologist to provide an assessment and recommendation. This process involves multiple interviews with the child, the parent (or parents), and sometimes others. The psychologist assesses the parent’s mental health, strengths and weaknesses, and parenting practices to understand what’s in the child’s best interest. They then complete a report with recommendations based on their assessment.

Do forensic psychologists help solve crimes?

In some cases they do. For example, criminal profiling involves collaborating with law enforcement officers to construct a profile of a perpetrator based on psychology, personality, and behavior as suggested by the crime in order to focus the investigation. They may also offer expert input on subjects related to a case such as deception, false confessions, and the reliability of testimony based on eyewitness accounts.

How long do people typically work with a forensic psychologist?

The length of time an individual works with a forensic psychologist depends on the relevant service. For example, if a forensic psychologist is conducting a psychological assessment for a court case, this may take one to two sessions to complete (although they can be more extensive). If the forensic psychologist is providing therapy to someone accused or convicted of a crime, treatment may last for several months or more.
