While I rely on established clinical tools from EFT, CBT, IFS (see more below), clients most frequently express that experiences of vulnerability and empowerment are the most valuable part of their time working with me.
The relationships we lean on for support often leave us feeling isolated and hurt instead. I help my clients repair wounds, rebuild trust, and rejuvenate connection. At your pace, we’ll consider how your past experiences, family background, cultural context, and personal values affect your relationships. From there, we collaborate on how you will choose to move forward.

As a therapist, I may be a good fit for you if you seek support in nurturing self-trust, healing your relationship with your body, navigating a significant life change, or enriching your relationships. I recognize that each person in their body is unique and holds intersecting identities, experiences, and relationships to our shared culture. Folks with marginalized identities, chronic illnesses, and neurodivergence may find our work especially affirming. Folks seeking support in embracing body liberation and acceptance may also enjoy work with me.

I am trained in EMDR, Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy and am IFS-informed.
I believe there is profound healing within our ability to embark on honest and compassionate exploration of our unique stories in the name of growth and change. Our lived experiences are vast and varied and some of our stories are deeply rooted in generational trauma and suppression of our authentic selves for survival. This can make it difficult to truly know and trust ourselves. I understand how important it is to find the right therapist to walk with you on your quest for clarity, growth and healing in a way that honors your story, free of shame and judgment.

I also offer CBT, DBT, EFT, HAES approach, mindfulness and somatic based therapies.
In a world where we are constantly experiencing trauma, both directly and indirectly, it can be difficult to identify how deeply different things in life affect us. I believe that the experience of feeling understood can be the catalyst for change and something that allows for healing to begin. I aim to provide a space of healing, openness and exploration for those things that you might otherwise suppress or carry with heaviness or judgment. Together, we can heal that unresolved stuff from the past and create skills to support you through future circumstances.

Do you and your partner get into the same fight over and over without it ever being resolved? Have you tried talking about it and feel like your partner doesn't listen? Do you feel like you’ve tried everything, but nothing seems to be working? If so, you’ve come to the right place. I work with couples dealing with a myriad of issues. My goal is to help you gain insight into your relationship issues and figure out where you're stuck. From there, we will create a ‘toolbox’ of strategies to use so you can experience more satisfaction in your relationship.

I find that working with energy psychology (eg., EFT or tapping) most directly provides this holistic model.
I love my work. It is such a joy to assist folks in discovering more of who they are, to uncover more of their authentic self. This is what occurs as issues brought to therapy are processed. I enjoy working with adults of all ages although as I age, I have found a special niche for seniors. I have a background in addressing depression, anxiety, stress, life transition and grief as well as feminine power issues.

Who is emotionally focused therapy for?

Emotionally focused therapy (EFT) is for couples who are emotionally distressed, stuck in an unsatisfying relationship pattern or feeling deeply alienated. They may even believe the relationship is beyond repair. Very often, the partners display intense anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal in the relationship. In addition, EFT is helpful to couples and individuals who have difficulty expressing emotions and those who have trouble regulating emotions.

Why do people need emotionally focused therapy?

People need emotionally focused therapy because the need for others is built into the brain, but the pressures of daily life can erode feelings of love, and couples often do not have the skills to find their way back to the comfort of each other. Instead, they may be stuck in repetitive patterns of anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal. Emotionally focused therapy regards such strong negative feelings as expressions of protest over the loss of connection and turns them into pathways of reconnection.

What happens in emotionally focused therapy?

Over the course of eight to 20 weekly sessions, couples de-escalate their negative emotional reactivity to one another so that they can listen to each other and be responsive to each other’s needs. Then the deep emotional and physical bond is restored, giving partners a sense of comfort and security, which they can use to solve whatever problems come their way. The therapist plays an active role, helping partners understand how anger and withdrawal are actually misguided cries for connection.

What problems does emotionally focused therapy treat?

EFT is designed to help couples stuck in dysfunctional relationship patterns regain closeness and rebuild their relationship. Typically, such couples experience considerable distress, with partners feeling alienated and distrustful of one another, not certain their relationship can survive. EFT is also helpful to individuals experiencing attachment-related fears of loss; it helps them learn to use their fears as a way of eliciting the closeness they desire.
