I am trained in EMDR, Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy and am IFS-informed.
I believe there is profound healing within our ability to embark on honest and compassionate exploration of our unique stories in the name of growth and change. Our lived experiences are vast and varied and some of our stories are deeply rooted in generational trauma and suppression of our authentic selves for survival. This can make it difficult to truly know and trust ourselves. I understand how important it is to find the right therapist to walk with you on your quest for clarity, growth and healing in a way that honors your story, free of shame and judgment.

I utilize a holistic approach with Eye Movement, Desensitization and Reprocessing ( EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Existential modalities.
Sometimes life brings challenges which become opportunities to grow and change. It can catch one off guard and may cause disillusion. When that happens, we seek answers, resolutions or someone for validation. As a psychotherapist, I am fortunate to witness miracles everyday with my clients. The smallest step forward is still a miracle. It takes courage to take the smallest step.

I utilize a combination of modalities, including EMDR and cognitive-behavioral techniques, to help clients process difficult experiences and develop healthier coping strategies.
Here to help those seeking to heal from trauma, whether stemming from past abuse, loss, being marginalized, relationships, or life-changing events. They may struggle with anxiety, self-worth, or emotional regulation. Their goal is to regain control, build resilience, and reconnect with their inner strength. They want to break free from the weight of their past, not just survive. Together, we will explore their story, nurture self-compassion, and develop tools to foster growth and last well-being.

My approach is person centered, open and trauma informed, and I use a variety of techniques including EMDR, IFS/parts work, attachment work and play therapy.
Hope is an important starting place for therapy. Hope that life can feel different, that relationships can improve and that joy, contentment and peace are possible. I invite you to collaborate with me on getting to know more about your patterns, thoughts and feelings. People often reach out for therapy due to feeling stuck or overwhelmed. We can work together to identify goals and create a plan to help find relief. I work with a wide range of ages, including children and adults.

I work with you to meet your needs/goals by utilizing various evidence-based techniques such as DBT, ACT, and EMDR.

I use a combination of therapeutic techniques and EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization) to address the following challenges: anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, trauma, life transitions, and self-esteem.
My individual-based approach uses ACT, CBT, EMDR, and a combination of other therapy styles to target past trauma and/or experiences that keep us "stuck" in our current ways of thinking and being. From there, we can process unhelpful patterns and replace them with more compassionate and useful beliefs and behaviors.

I use EMDR, attachment-based, person-centered and trauma-aware approaches.
I believe in the healing power of laughter and the importance of nurturing a warm, accepting environment where clients are comfortable, at ease, and safe. Therapy has the capacity to help each of us on our journey through life. Changes in our lives, unresolved past events, and worries about the future can severely deplete our emotional resources. These effect how we care for ourselves and others.

I continually train in the newest modalities and use EMDR, EFT, NLP, CRM, MEMI, Brainspotting, and Clinical Hypnotherapy.
For over 40 years I have been helping individuals, couples, and families to learn better ways to manage their lives using advanced therapeutic techniques. The focus is on learning to manage emotions, how to change behaviors, and how to become more resilient in order to cope with whatever challenges life may bring. We can work on a single issue or explore working deeply through multiple complicated issues to untangle the mental, emotional, and physical effects that trauma may create in order to bring about deeper, long lasting healing and overall sense of wellbeing.

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
