In addition to therapy, I also offer comprehensive evaluations for children and young adults to address concerns regarding learning, ADHD, social/emotional, Autism, and cognitive disabilities.
Many children struggle with the pressures of our modern world. Through therapy, a struggling child can be provided with the skills and tools to reach their greatest potential. I believe that each child has individual needs, therefore a personalized evaluation helps tailor a treatment plan that focuses on his or her strengths. My goal is always to assist the child in gaining the tools necessary to be successful.

I began my career assisting those experiencing a mental health crisis, then focused on working with families using play and sand tray therapies, cognitive behavioral techniques, art therapy, and Theraplay.
To expand these services, I became the Clinical Director of an Infant and Early Childhood department. My career then transitioned to the world of families involved with Family Court who often have legal and co-parenting challenges to consider.

With over a decade of experience, I have training in Attachment-based as well as Cognitive, Behavioral and Trauma-focused approaches and EMDR.
Hi! I am Erin, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker serving adults and adolescents in and around Tucson, Arizona. The most common reason my clients express for seeking therapy is "feeling disconnected"–from themselves or their loved ones, stuck in patterns that are not serving them or their relationships.

Ultimately, they want to feel empowered to embrace their unique identities and lead fulfilling lives, free from the constraints of self-doubt and societal expectations. By addressing these challenges, they can find clarity and strength to navigate their journey toward personal growth and authenticity.

I use a variety of modalities including Cognitive Behavior Therapy ( CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Person-Centered.
I believe we are all capable of positive change, healing, and growth and I enjoy working with individuals who share this mindset. Sometimes we get stuck in life's challenges and would benefit from the compassion and skill of a therapist. I received my Master of Counseling in 2006. Since then, I have worked in a variety of behavioral health settings. The majority of my work has been with teens and adults struggling with behavioral health issues including but not limited to depression, anxiety, trauma, self-harm, and co-occurring disorders.

My hypnotherapy sessions are eclectic in that I use various techniques appropriate to what you want to achieve and to ensure a positive outcome. I create unique scripts that address particular issues and help you succeed in what you want to achieve in life.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) Therapists

How does cognitive behavioral therapy work?

Cognitive behavioral therapy works by exploring how your thoughts affect your emotions and experiences. CBT helps you identify distortions in your thinking. For example, you may tend to jump to the worst case scenario catastrophizing or think in extremes (all-or-nothing thinking). A therapist can teach you how to push back against those thoughts to ultimately change your feelings and behavior for the better. They can also provide coping skills to better deal with stressors and challenges.

When do I know to seek treatment with cognitive behavioral therapy?

It’s reasonable to consider cognitive behavioral therapy if you struggle to manage difficult emotions or behaviors to such an extent that you are not getting the most out of life on a day-to-day basis. If you want a shorter term, concrete, skills-based approach, CBT is a great option. (By contrast, other types of therapy may devote more time to exploring your past and its effects.) The decision to seek CBT also depends on the condition you’re treating; CBT is an effective treatment for anxiety, depression, trauma, and many other disorders.

How can I find a cognitive behavioral therapist for someone else?

To find a cognitive behavioral therapist for someone else, you may want to begin by discussing the person’s problem, researching cognitive behavioral therapy, and assessing whether the approach is the right fit. You could then reach out to a few cognitive behavioral therapists in this directory, explain the scenario, have a consultation with those available, and determine who could be a good match.

Why is CBT such a popular form of therapy?

CBT has become a popular form of therapy because it is effective and accessible. Robust research has demonstrated that CBT is an effective treatment for many mental health conditions. And CBT can be learned in relatively few sessions, which means that many people can engage in the process, afford it, and see results quickly. It involves learning concrete skills such as disputing unhelpful thoughts; these skills can also be taught and spread widely.
