The relationships we lean on for support often leave us feeling isolated and hurt instead. I help my clients repair wounds, rebuild trust, and rejuvenate connection. At your pace, we’ll consider how your past experiences, family background, cultural context, and personal values affect your relationships. From there, we collaborate on how you will choose to move forward.

You’re thoughtful. Capable. Self-aware. You’ve done the work—read the books, listened to the podcasts, tried to “fix” yourself. And still, something feels off. Maybe you understand your patterns but don’t know how to truly change them. Maybe you show up strong for everyone else, yet struggle to offer yourself that same steadiness. You don’t need more insight—you need integration. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship stress, low self-worth, or a life crossroads, I offer warm, effective telehealth therapy for adults in Tucson, Phoenix, Scottsdale, Flagstaff and surrounding Arizona communities.

I specialize in trauma therapy and find meaning in supporting clients as they process some of the deepest pain, hardship, and suffering they have endured. One of the most beautiful aspects of my work is watching people develop and practice resilience. Further, being able to support individuals of diverse backgrounds, identities, orientations is important to me, as I believe each person being free to be themselves leads to a vibrant, healthy community. I practice from a place of universal regard, and am racial and ethnically allied, LGBTQ+ allied, and body positivity allied.

Have you lovingly embraced your inner child today? :) I understand what it's like to struggled with insecurity, shyness, fear of rejection, and feeling “sense of not good enough.” As a young man the pain led me to heavy drinking to cope with life. Never imagined that the pain would one day turn into my hidden treasure and legacy! I was inspired by psychologists like Albert Ellis, who transformed his own fears into tools that helped others heal. Today, I see many of our deepest struggles not as proof of failure, but as places where growth, meaning, compassion, and strength can emerge.

Do you feel like the world isn't built for people like you? Are you dealing with miscommunication, burnout from everyday life, and a lack of meaning and engagement? Does a painful history get in the way of the life you want today? Have you tried therapy in the past, but it felt like the therapist couldn't speak your language or know where you're coming from? Therapy is an opportunity to know yourself in a new way, choose your values, shift your relationship to the past, build relationship safety, and create a life for who you really are. I see the misfits, nerds, queers, and kinksters so they have a place they can be themselves.

It’s okay to not have it all figured out. Life gets messy. Sometimes it feels like you’re doing all the “right” things, but inside, something still feels off. Maybe you’re overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or just tired of pretending everything’s fine when it’s not. You’re not alone—and you don’t have to go through this by yourself. I’m here to help you make sense of what you’re feeling, what you need, and take steps toward the life you actually want. No judgment. No pressure. I show up as a real person in our sessions—not a distant expert. I’ll be honest, warm, funny, and supportive as we talk through what’s going on.

I strive to create a tranquil, empathetic, and non-judgmental space where my clients can feel safe and allow themselves to be vulnerable and honest about what they’re feeling. By sharing your struggles and your ideal future, we can collaborate in changing those aspirations into realizations. I believe we all have the strength within ourselves to overcome and persevere, but sometimes we just need a helping hand to draw out that inner strength.

FAQ - Asian Counseling
What can an Asian therapist help with?
An Asian therapist can help with the same concerns as any other therapist, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, stress, grief, and major life transitions. How an Asian therapist can make the experience feel different, however, is the possibility of shared cultural understanding. If you identify with a background such as Chinese, Korean, Indian, Vietnamese, Filipino, or Japanese, working with a therapist who shares or understands aspects of your culture may help you feel more comfortable opening up on such topics.

What role can language play in therapy?
Language can play an important role in therapy because people often express emotions, family dynamics, and personal experiences differently depending on the language they are speaking. For some individuals, working with a therapist who speaks their native language, whether it be Mandarin, Korean, Vietnamese, Japanese, or another language, may help sessions feel more natural and emotionally connected. Even if you are fluent in English, certain thoughts or feelings may still feel easier to communicate in your native language.

How can an Asian therapist support couples counseling or family therapy?
Cultural background can play an important role in couples counseling and family therapy, particularly when family expectations, communication styles, generational differences, or cultural traditions are influencing the relationship. An Asian therapist may help partners and family members navigate these topics with more cultural understanding and less need to explain the context behind them. For multicultural or multilingual families, a Asian therapist who is bilingual may also help ensure that each person feels heard and understood during sessions.

How might I inquire about a therapist’s experience with Asian clients?
If cultural background is important to you in therapy, it can be helpful to ask prospective therapists whether they have experience working with clients who share your cultural background or speak your preferred language. In initial conversations with potential therapists, you might also ask whether they have worked with clients experiencing concerns related to identity, intergenerational conflict, family expectations, or cultural stigma around mental health.

Who is included in Psychology Today’s directory of Asian therapists?
The directory of Asian therapists includes professionals who have shared their ethnicity in their profiles. Psychology Today uses this information to assist clients in finding a therapist who can provide a cultural match. However, not all therapists choose to disclose their ethnicity in their profiles, and they may not appear in search results for this reason; also, when the number of therapists identified as Asian is limited, the directory will also show therapists with comprehensive experience working with clients from relevant backgrounds.
