Finding contentment in life can sometimes be elusive when we are faced with life challenges. We may feel confused about what to do, or our emotions may be overwhelming us in such a way that we cannot clearly see solutions. Whether you are confronting past experiences or current life challenges, I will work with you to identify goals, process thoughts and feelings, and explore solutions. I work with adults of all ages in my practice and I utilize a combination of cognitive, experiential, somatic, and solution focused interventions. A large portion of my practice has evolved into helping men explore how they can be better partners.

Practice Update: I am no longer accepting new therapy or counseling clients. I’ve shifted my focus to providing Therapeutic Supervision services for the Superior Court, supporting families navigating high-conflict custody and court-ordered parenting time. Thank you to those who entrusted me with their healing. If you're an attorney, case manager, or parent in need of therapeutic supervision, please reach out to discuss how I can support your case. – Renata Inigo, LPC, NCC, BHP

You’re searching for meaning or purpose in life. Perhaps you want to trust your intuition more. You feel at a crossroads. You’ve been successful in your work but feel a bit unsatisfied. You’re stable but lacking joie de vivre. You’re a creative, but not feeling all that creative right now. You sense this isn't something your sharp intellect or talk therapy can help you with. You feel your body holds wisdom for you, but you don’t know how to access it. I put decades of experience in psychotherapy and depth, creative, and contemplative processes in service of guiding and witnessing your unfolding into a more authentic, at-peace you.

Art Therapy is a therapeutic technique which allows you to explore various issues through art-making that can sometimes be difficult to express through traditional talk therapy
I offer Art Therapy to children, teens and families in person & telehealth. Art Therapy creates a safe space to explore your needs, work through difficult situations and reach your goals. Many children don’t like to talk about what’s going on in their lives, art is a way to give them a space to explore and express their emotions in a non-threatening way.

E&W is a non-judgmental and inclusive space where we not only support people living with an addiction, but people whose lives are affected by the addiction of another like a partner or child. So, I try to make this process as easy as possible! My services are through telehealth. So, we can talk virtually or via phone.

I have years of experience working with addictions, depression, and teen issues. I am passionate about recovery and helping those in need find their own recovery. I work to help individuals let go of the old messages that are mean and belittling to themselves, and help replace them with compassion and kindness. Because, it's when we feel good about ourselves that we are able to treat ourselves well. Battling mental health issues is hard and having someone you feel safe with to explore the deep, dark parts of your soul is where the healing begins.

When I meet someone for the first time, I create a safe place free of judgement and open for them to tell their story. As they speak, I hear their words and voice tone. I look at their face, eyes, hands, feet, whole body, energy and see what they are also telling me. Then I develop a sense of who they are.

How does art therapy work?
The process of making art allows people to express themselves. Art-making can take many forms, such as painting, collage, or sculpting. The therapist asks questions that the work elicits, such as how the person felt while creating their piece, or if any memories surfaced that they can discuss. The therapist will then work with the patient to process their experience, understand themselves better, and work toward change.

Does art therapy help with trauma?
Art therapy can be a valuable treatment option for those suffering from trauma. Traumatic experiences such as combat, rape, or childhood abuse can be so painful that articulating them can be too scary or painful; creating art allows people to express themselves without words, and tell their story in a different way. The physical nature of creating art can also help people feel rooted in the body, which may benefit those who feel disconnected from their body in the aftermath of trauma.

How long does art therapy last?
The duration of art therapy varies, but a common length for treatment is 10 to 15 weekly sessions. Some people may see improvement in just a few weeks, while others may choose to remain in therapy longer term. Patients should periodically discuss their goals with their therapist to make sure the two are aligned on process and progress.

What are the limitations of art therapy?
Art therapy is helpful for many people, but a limitation is that it doesn’t have as robust an evidence base as other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy. The evidence on art therapy is mixed; some research demonstrates its benefits, while other research suggests that it has little impact on patients.
