My passion is helping people connect in healthy ways, healing wounds that prevent us from living full lives and becoming our whole selves. Childhood abuse, attachment struggles, codependency, and dysfunctional family systems can leave us hurt and guarded, but we can overcome these wounds. We can find love within ourselves, we can connect in healthy ways, and this is something we deserve in our lives. My hope is for you to live a beautiful life, accepting yourself, allowing yourself to be loved. I believe I have tools to assist you in this journey and would be honored to be your guide.

Life is full of surprises. Some are beautiful and we welcome them with open arms; while others are extremely difficult. Those situations or circumstances change our life in a way that leaves us desolate and sometimes, without knowing what to do. The good news is that you don't have to navigate your problems or situations alone. If you allow me, I will walk along by your side, and together we will cross the dark and difficult paths towards a new beginning. I offer you a professional atmosphere in which you will be treated with dignity and without prejudice.

Therapy is life changing and enriching as you raise your awareness and learn new ways to mange your internal world. I believe one of the most courageous things a person can do is begin to understand their own story and the challenges that have brought them to therapy for guidance and support. In my 16 years of professional experience I’ve found that my clients have and demonstrate- the capacity which all of us harbor that allows for healing, feeling better, cultivating fulfilling relationships and breaking through sometime excruciating and longstanding stuck points. Sometimes untangling a big knot just takes a fresh pair of eyes

I believe that reaching out for support—whether for your child, your family, or yourself as a parent—is an act of deep care and courage. Parenting can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also feel overwhelming, uncertain, and, at times, isolating. You don’t have to navigate it alone. My approach to therapy with children and families is warm, playful, and grounded in trust. As a credentialed play therapist, I have years almost 30 years of experience creating a space where kids feel safe and parents feel heard and supported. Every child and family is unique and should be treated that way in therapy.

When I meet someone for the first time, I create a safe place free of judgement and open for them to tell their story. As they speak, I hear their words and voice tone. I look at their face, eyes, hands, feet, whole body, energy and see what they are also telling me. Then I develop a sense of who they are.

The work often begins in a moment of transition—burnout, grief, a shift in identity or relationship to self. Many who find this space are helpers, deep feelers, or those who’ve been carrying more than their share for a long time. There’s often a longing to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with what’s been quieted. Sessions hold space for meaning-making, nervous system repair, and relational healing. This isn’t about fixing—it’s about returning. To what’s true, what’s needed, and what’s been waiting.

Does my adopted child need therapy?
Not every adopted child needs therapy. However, many can benefit from seeing an adoption-informed therapist, especially if they were victims of abuse or neglect, appear withdrawn or disconnected, have behavioral or developmental issues (which may or may not be related to their adoption), are struggling with feelings of grief or loss surrounding their birth parents, or find it difficult to establish an identity, a challenge that often becomes most apparent during adolescence.

When should adoptive parents seek therapy?
Prospective parents can benefit from therapy even before an adoption—for example, to voice worries and fears; to reconcile infertility struggles, if relevant; or simply to prepare themselves for parenthood. After the adoption, parents who are struggling to bond with their child; are unsure how to talk about adoption or related issues, such as race; or whose child is dealing with developmental, behavioral, or psychiatric concerns can address these and other issues with the help of an adoption-competent therapist.

Is family therapy appropriate for adoptive families?
Family therapy can be invaluable for strengthening the bond between adoptive parents and children, helping the latter feel more secure in their place in the family. Family therapy can also help adoptive families navigate complex communication issues—for example, parents who feel uncomfortable discussing race with their child, who in turn feels invalidated by their silence, or a child who has questions about his birth parents but avoids asking them out of fear of hurting his adoptive parents’ feelings.

What therapy is not appropriate for adoption issues?
A discredited therapy known as “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy” or “rebirthing therapy”) should not be used to treat adopted and foster children, though it was largely designed for this population. Attachment therapy involves restraining, coercing, and punishing the child in order for them to “release” negative emotions and attach to their new caregivers—techniques that are abusive and dangerous and have even proven fatal in some cases.
