My goal as a therapist is to work along side with you; helping you acknowledge and embrace your own feelings, and to help you heal inside out. Either we grew up in functional or dysfunctional families, we all have been affected in one way or another by our surroundings, care givers and other people in our lives, and as a result of that we find ourselves dealing with some difficult feelings that make no sense to us, those can be depression, anxiety, dissociation, etc. that are preventing us from being fully present and using our full potential in life. We can heal by learning to acknowledge and embrace our feelings.

I often use EMDR, Parts work, and mindfulness to address trauma
Many of the people I work with come to therapy carrying the weight of trauma—whether from a specific event, difficult relationships, or years of navigating chronic stress. I’m a bilingual therapist (English and Spanish) who values creating a space where clients feel understood and supported. This often shows up as anxiety, feeling emotionally overwhelmed, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. It can feel even more complicated during life transitions like pregnancy, postpartum, or navigating identity, especially for BIPOC clients who may also be managing the effects of systemic and generational trauma.

I believe that a large part of personal growth and healing comes when people are able to recognize and build upon their strengths while at the same time being able to express and process their challenges openly and safely in an environment where they feel listened to, respected, and understood. I enjoy helping people to understand how their past experiences impact them in their present circumstances and relationships. This might include challenges such as trauma, grief, life-transitions, stress, or anxiety. I enjoy working with first responders, military, the veteran population, and people of faith.

My ideal client is someone who recognizes that change is needed and is ready to begin that journey. They may be a single parent carrying significant responsibility, navigating a new health diagnosis, facing parenting challenges, grieving a loss, or adjusting to a major life transition. At their core, they want to become an overcomer. They desire not just relief from their current struggles, but meaningful growth and renewed hope. They are ready to invest in themselves, build confidence, and move forward with greater strength, clarity, and purpose.

Whether through EMDR, expressive art therapy, CBT, or mindfulness, my approach is adaptable to your needs.
Do you often feel disconnected from yourself or others, or find yourself putting everyone else’s needs before your own? Many people feel overwhelmed balancing relationships, work, family, and self-care. When your needs are pushed aside, it can lead to exhaustion and feeling stuck. You deserve support and practical tools to build a more balanced life. I came to the U.S. at age 12 and understand the challenges of adapting to a new culture and language. As a mother of two, I also understand the complexities of parenting and family life, which shape my compassionate and culturally aware approach to therapy.

I’m so glad you’re here. I invite you into a space where we can co-create room for your most authentic, unmasked self. Together, we can laugh, cry, pause, and explore who you are and who you are becoming. If you’re feeling dissociated, overwhelmed, or lost in the weight of life, we’ll walk your path side-by-side to help you find your footing again. I value the therapy of presence, play, and curiosity, and our sessions may take many forms. They can be talking while creating art or working on a puzzle, practicing mindful breathing to build resilience, or exploring difficult (or special-interest) topics in ways that feel grounding.

Now accepting new clients! Hello and welcome. I’m glad you’re here. Many of the individuals I work with carry the weight of past experiences while trying to navigate the stress and uncertainty of daily life. Trauma, anxiety, and depression can leave people feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or constantly on alert. It can feel exhausting to hold everything together while struggling internally.

In my practice, I provide the necessary emotional environment that is conducive to healing and use the most advanced proven therapeutic tools for my clients. I believe that any adverse life event can overwhelm the normal adaptive capacity of any person at any age. Untreated, it can lead to the development of dysfunctional behaviors, feelings, and thoughts, such as depression, anxiety, obsession, negative self-talk, low self esteem, procrastination, PTSD, anger & relationship issues, among others. I also believe that everyone has the innate healing capacity to overcome these issues with the help of an experienced professional.

Mindfulness-Based (MBCT) Therapists
How does mindfulness-based cognitive therapy work?
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy originated in the work of John Kabat-Zinn of the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He developed mindfulness-based stress reduction, which is a technique found in yoga and meditation. MBCT is a combination of this type of stress reduction and cognitive behavioral therapy; it essentially quiets emotional distress through mindfulness, utilizing proper breathing and meditation. These techniques aim to bring the individual into the present moment when in a state of distress.

When do I know if I need treatment with mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?
If an individual’s mind is filled with emotional distress and general negativity, the person may feel trapped. A mindfulness-based cognitive therapist can help a person change their thinking patterns as well as their behavior through calm acceptance and compassion. This therapy can provide an individual with the coping skills needed for a healthier and more constructive life.

What should I expect from mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?
This therapy often takes place in group sessions. A therapist will work with the group as well as with each individual. Meditation and breathing exercises are core practices that aim to invite inquiry and discovery into a person’s troubled mental state. The objective is to identify and lessen negative thoughts and behaviors and move toward optimal health and productivity. The individual will see life in a more realistic way. This therapy is supportive, accepting, and warm.

Is mindfulness-based cognitive therapy effective?
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy is evidence-based and effective. One study found that people with major depressive disorder have benefitted from this type of therapy; the person accepts their distressed thoughts and also moves into healthier patterns of thinking. This therapy also aims to move an individual away from automatic negative responses. This type of therapy can bring a person lifelong change, with higher levels of satisfaction, less stress, as well as positive emotional and behavioral habits.
