Deciding to begin therapy is a big step and my main priority is to create a safe and understanding relationship where you can feel comfortable to open up about your struggles and receive the support you deserve. I have experience helping with a range of presenting concerns including trauma, relational issues, anxiety, family conflict, pregnancy and postpartum challenges, parenting and behavioral concerns, life transitions, and perinatal challenges.

Attempting to manage relationships and life while also battling depressive symptoms, anxiety, trauma, and other mental health conditions can be exhausting. I believe that therapy works best when the client and therapist work together to create trust and comfort so that positive change is possible.

I have worked with a variety of presenting concerns, but have extensive experience in attachment-based therapeutic approaches helping couples to address communication issues, sexual relationship concerns, relationship injuries and infidelity. I also have a strong background in working with children and families in the areas of parenting and behavioral challenges.

I have extensive experience working with adults as well as families of children and adolescents that exhibit emotional and behavioral concerns, including the treatment of ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), anxiety, academic underachievement, OCD, depression, interpersonal relationship issues, screen addiction, entitlement, low self-esteem, substance use disorders, Oppositional Defiance Disorder (ODD) as well as stress management for student athletes. I emphasize using evidence-based methods that have scientific backing and I engage in a collaborative process with my clients while respecting their values.

In my 30 years of practice I've encountered a variety of problems as presented by both adolescents and their families. My specialization is in relational concerns and intensive client care; I have years of experience working with individuals, couples, family dynamics and intensive cases addressing a wide variety of issues. I specialize in all mood, behavioral, an addictive disorders. I also have extensive training and education in treating complex trauma especially active duty military and veterans with PTSD. I utilize EMDR and Cognitive Processing Therapy for trauma. I believe in making my clients comfortable with the therapeutic process. I do interventions for substance use and mental health issues.
