Whether you are struggling with depression, how relationship issues feel, the incredible inertia of a panic attack-- and conversely, what it took to surpass, adapt, and heal from the experience(s) of them.
That saying, "What doesn't kill me makes me stronger" -- I think it should be "What doesn't kill me makes me suffer." So many people feel unheard, disconnected, tired, worthless, fearful, sad, anxious and forgettable. They need the skills to nurture their resilience, to discern their incredible value. There's a loneliness in struggling. But I'm here to help you heal yourself with a new, creative perspective and find resources you didn't know you possessed.

Everyone has the ability within themselves to heal and to grow. My goal as a therapist is to help each individual realize their own innate healing potential. Once this realization occurs, the possibilities become limitless. My areas of specialization include helping others resolve social phobias, general stress and anxiety , depression, traumas, and relationship concerns. I work with many who are going through transitions. I see college age students who are adjusting to living on their own. There are others who are going through a divorce or have completed the process who call.

I work to humanize therapy; to provide a connection, a place to be vulnerable and feel valued. I see both adolescents and adults who are coping with anxiety and depression related to life stage transitions, grief, or medical/mental health diagnoses. I specialize in children with adjustment disorders, self esteem issues, and social emotional issues impacting learning. My work with adults is focused on processing grief, divorce/relationship issues, and anxiety /depression.

Are you looking for a nonjudgmental, safe space to learn skills to feel better? Clients that seek me out are often looking for support in managing intense emotions like anxiety and depression. They often feel powerless over their feelings. For children and teens, sometimes this is observed through behaviors like isolation, acting out, or self-harming. Many times they wish there was a magic pill that could just solve all their problems so they could not feel like they are simply surviving. As we work together we will improve coping skills, connect with meaning and purpose, manage distress and create a more fulfilling life.

The ideal therapy client is the individual who needs help and approaches psychotherapy as highly motivated and committed to make change. Individuals who seek therapy have been in emotional pain for a long period of time. Many struggle and feel stuck in the present with issues they haven't effectively dealt with from their past. In this way, present problems become a trigger for an unresolved past trauma. The client who is seeking alleviation from emotional pain, chronic anxiety , and depression, especially from past trauma and abuse is the client who will benefit from my expertise.

I healed myself from PTSD, anxiety , depression, and the more severe symptoms of ADHD.
Hello beautiful one. The world has been hard lately, hasn't it? Everything is starting to feel upside down. Does it feel like just existing is overwhelming? Do you feel weighed down and exhausted? Are you wondering if there's any purpose to this wild ride we're on? Do you find yourself feeling more sensitive lately, or like life keeps hitting you with challenges? Maybe you just need some support, guidance, and validation that you're on the right path. Maybe you need help letting go and moving forward in life. Maybe you've been carrying so much pain with you, that you find it hard to enjoy the present moment. I know how that feels.

Anxiety Therapists

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
