Whether it's daily life stressors, trauma, relationship difficulties, suicidal ideation, or the burdens of living in a capitalist world, I am here to connect and help. People with gender/ sexual/ relationship minority identities can feel comfortable reaching out to me. Much of my professional experience is in the field of domestic and sexual violence, working both with people who have experienced these things as well as those who have used this type of harmful behavior in relationships. My interest as a professional is to help my clients take responsibility for their own healing as well as their own misdirected/ harmful behaviors.

Hello, and congratulations on taking this step. Reaching out takes awareness, courage, and a real commitment to change — it requires to invite someone into your struggles. I've spent over 25 years working in behavioral health as a clinician, clinical supervisor, and clinical director. My career has taken me from a faith-based agency in New England to a community behavioral health center in northeastern Arizona, where I eventually led clinical services for 12 years, to providing counseling at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base — an experience that deepened my respect for military members and their families.

Do you feel like you’re functioning — but only just? On the outside, everything might look fine — work is stable, relationships are intact — yet inside you feel worn down, constantly on alert, or disconnected from the joy and presence you once had. Maybe you’ve been pushing through, telling yourself you should feel better by now, only to find that anxiety, self-criticism, or old habits keep showing up in ways that drain your energy and quiet your voice.

When stress builds from work, family, relationships, life transitions, or the pressure to keep everything together, it can start to impact your confidence, focus, and sense of direction. For many we are taught to keep quiet about our feelings, "Push through it", or, "Suck it up", but you don’t have to figure it out alone. Reaching out for support isn’t a weakness, it’s a way to take control of your life. We also specialize in working with men, men of color, fathers, to help them share their unique challenges and strengths.

You’re intelligent, reflective, and deeply want your relationships and life to feel expansive, not just tolerable. You’ve tried self-help books, self-work, and maybe even therapy before, yet you keep bumping up against the same patterns: old relational wounds, self-doubt that won’t quit, misalignment between who you are and who you want to be. Imagine a space where the patterns that once trapped you begin to soften, where clarity replaces confusion, and your relationships deepen instead of drain you. I help people break free from repetitive emotional loops, root into your own worth, and build connections that feel authentic.

I work with adult men in Tucson who feel stressed, stuck, disconnected, or overwhelmed—and who want practical tools without pressure or judgement. Many of the men I see are dealing with anxiety, anger, burnout, relationship strain, trauma, or major life transitions. My approach is direct, grounded, and respectful of how men experience life. While my primary focus is men’s therapy, I also do limited work with women, particularly around borderline personality disorder, childhood trauma, dissociation, and identity.

With expertise in sex therapy, couples therapy, men's issues, emerging adulthood, LGBTQ and gender-affirming care, I help clients confront patterns, deepen connection, and live with greater integrity and pleasure.
With nearly 10 years of clinical experience, I’ve honed my skills to help you find a path toward an authentic you. I believe that therapy is about challenging the stories we tell ourselves—the ones that keep us stuck, small, or disconnected. Real change comes from doing the hard work: questioning old patterns, building an understanding of our beliefs and where they come from, and stepping bravely into discomfort. I want to get in the trenches with you to help you face what’s hard and build a version of yourself more aligned with your values. I strive to ensure my services are LGBTQ+ affirming, kink-aware, and poly-affirming.

Powerful changes can happen in people's lives much faster than they think. I practice Solution-Focused Therapy: I help you see the deepest strengths you have, the things that helped you make it this far. We use your joyful experiences, your best skills, your quirks, and your deepest motivations to help you overcome the challenges you face now. It's simple, positive, and fast. You don't have to learn any new jargon. We won't dwell too long on what you think might be wrong with you. Quite the opposite. I'm more interested in learning what you were doing in the moments you believed there was something right with you. That's the target.

I came to this work personally, and that experience shapes everything about how I show up for my clients. I know firsthand that yesterday does not have to define tomorrow — and that hope, more than almost anything else, has the power to change the trajectory of a life. I want you to know something important: you do the work. I am just here to provide the space, the tools, and the support. Every breakthrough, every shift, every step forward — that belongs to you. Trauma touches all of us in different ways, and I believe deeply that everyone deserves the support and tools to move through it.

I’m an experienced, active therapist, integrating techniques from models such as Internal Family Systems, EMDR & cognitive-behavioral therapy in my approach to our work. While I’m warm and caring, I’m also direct and focused on the change you seek; in the words one of my teachers, Terry Real, uses to describe his approach, I “avoid being heavy on nurture and short on truth.” I bring diverse professional & life experience, a sensitivity to culture & all other components of your identity, and an array of tools that you can use to find the growth, solutions, well-being, or healing you seek.

Finding contentment in life can sometimes be elusive when we are faced with life challenges. We may feel confused about what to do, or our emotions may be overwhelming us in such a way that we cannot clearly see solutions. Whether you are confronting past experiences or current life challenges, I will work with you to identify goals, process thoughts and feelings, and explore solutions. I work with adults of all ages in my practice and I utilize a combination of cognitive, experiential, somatic, and solution focused interventions. A large portion of my practice has evolved into helping men explore how they can be better partners.

Is therapy for men different than it is for women?
Therapeutic treatments and types are the same for men as they are for women, with the same protocols followed and the same strategies employed. Discussing one’s feelings and emotions is an integral part of most therapies, and some men find doing so more challenging. Therapists can help clients through the process; some specialize in treating men for this reason.

How do you encourage a man to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either himself or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can men prepare for therapy?
Men can prepare for therapy by approaching the process with an open mind, being willing to talk about their challenges, and giving treatment the time to work. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. It can be useful for men who struggle to recall their emotional states to write down notes between sessions about their response to a given event or how they were feeling at a particular time.

What should men know about the process of therapy?
One of the most common reasons men don’t seek therapy is the notion that there’s something wrong with them if they do. Men should know that just because they’re seeking therapy doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill or damaged in some way. In the same way people work on their bodies through exercise or a craft through practice, therapy can be a way to improve the mental and emotional skills needed to be productive and effective partners, employees, and people in all realms of life.
