I specialize in working with women dealing with anxiety, trauma, and complex PTSD. I believe the therapeutic relationship is the foundation of meaningful healing. My approach is all about real connection, deeper insight, and somatic experience. I'm trained in EMDR and take a mind-body approach, blending talk therapy with emotional processing. You're in the driver's seat, choosing what feels most important to explore each week.

I think most of us can't get through life unscathed or without wounds. Whether as children or adults, those closest to us may not know the depth of our pain or how to help us heal. And we may not know how to express that pain. This is where having a sacred time and space can be pivotal in healing from events robbing us of our sense of well being as we navigate life. My goal for every client is that you can learn to love yourself and know deeply that you can handle life, no matter how it goes. You can turn a corner in an EMDR session - from 'I'm unlovable' to 'I am fine as I am.' Or 'I can't let go' to 'it is over.' You're worth it.

My path as a counselor and art therapist is guided by a deep belief in creativity, resilience, and the power of authentic connection. I have trained extensively in both traditional counseling and creative approaches. I work closely with diverse populations supporting individuals working through anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma recovery. Together we can create a safe space to process, heal, and grow. If you're ready to explore—whether through words, images, or body-based techniques—I’d be honored to walk alongside you in this process.

Do you feel stuck in a cycle of negative thoughts and patterns? Are you extra critical of yourself, do your relationships feel unfulfilling? If you are struggling with depression, anxiety, insecurity, difficulty feeling joy, or continually seeking ways to avoid the pain; counseling can help. You might be struggling with events in your past, your current life circumstances might feel impossible to overcome, or you have fears about the future. Imagine what it would be like to develop internal resilience, to feel joy again, to recognize the person you see in the mirror, to feel like you are in control of your life and decisions

I see my role as guiding clients on a journey of self-discovery and personal growth, particularly those eager to deepen their self-exploration and find a renewed sense of purpose. I work with clients hoping to navigate their concerns with a holistic approach - those ready to heal internal wounds and gain inner clarity. In our work together, we will explore the deeper origins of your current struggles, seeking the hidden meaning beneath the surface. As insight emerges, you may come to recognize your symptoms not as enemies, but as messengers from the unconscious guiding you toward greater self understanding and inner wholeness.

I work with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief, lack of motivation, relationship issues, and low self-esteem.
I do well with individuals who are wanting more freedom and satisfaction in their lives. I know that most people do not know what to do or what is causing the pain in their lives. People need someone they feel comfortable with to assist them in identifying what is the cause of their suffering. I know how confusing and hopeless it can be to try to figure out what is wrong and how to "fix it". I provide a safe, comfortable environment where individuals can learn the skills necessary to transform patterns of confusion and suffering to peace and contentment.

From personal experience, I know how scary, overwhelming, lonely, and defeating our internal reality can feel at times. Life does not have to be this way. What if instead we look at life events as experiences to be had and understood? What if we remove labels and learn to sit with ourselves with pure acceptance and compassion? Suffering does not have to be a human experience that we dread or get stuck in. Together we can help you feel how beautiful life truly is.

I strive to help you obtain skills to define and empower yourself, despite your circumstances and experiences. It's more about how you are functioning than any labels. I believe that change has already begun with the next right decision that moves you closer to where you want to be. Depending on your comfort level, we can explore how past experiences can influence the present or we can focus on where you are now and identify steps toward desired changes. I would be glad to help you find hope, a new perspective, motivation, confidence or simply a listening ear in support.

Self Esteem Therapists

When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?

When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?

Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?

Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?

Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
