Seeking therapy is a deeply personal decision, and I understand that it can feel both courageous and overwhelming. Taking that first step often comes with uncertainty—about the process, about being vulnerable, and about finding the right therapist who truly understands you. I want you to know that you don’t have to navigate this alone. My role is to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and supported exactly as you are. I approach every client with compassion, curiosity, and without judgment. Your experiences, thoughts, and emotions matter, and together we can explore them at a pace that feels safe and right for you.

You might be someone who feels a lot and wonders why relationships or emotions feel so heavy. Maybe you worry about being too much, not enough, or about being left or misunderstood during times of change in your life or family. For kids and teens, this can look like big feelings or shutting down. For adults and couples, it might show up as distance or feeling stuck. As an adoptee and a parent with lived experience of early medical stress, I understand how uncertainty and separation can shape families. You don’t have to do this alone, even if you’re not sure what you need yet.

I work with women who are tired. The kind of tired that comes from spending years putting everyone else first and forgetting that they matter too. My approach is collaborative and I'm not going to sit across from you and nod while you talk into the void, I'll ask the questions you've been avoiding, Help you understand why you do the things you do. Together we'll figure out how to get you from just surviving to actually feeling good in your own life. You don't have to come in with everything figured out and you don't have to be in crisis. You just have to be ready to stop putting yourself last. That's enough to start.

I work with people moving through moments that rearrange a life: becoming parents, losing someone you love, growing older, or realizing the person you built yourself into no longer fits your new normal. I specialize in postpartum adjustment, as well as grief and life transitions. I have experience supporting older adults facing the losses that come with aging and new parents coming into themselves as moms and dads. I bring real clinical depth to this work, along with an honest sense of humor when it's warranted because heaviness handled with genuine care tends to be what actually helps people move through hard things.

FAQ - Miscarriage Counseling
How do I know if I need therapy after pregnancy loss?
Pregnancy loss can bring intense emotional and physical changes. While there is no “right” way to feel afterward, many people experience deep sadness, anxiety, anger, guilt, or numbness. These reactions are common, especially in the days and weeks after a loss. However, if these feelings begin to interfere with daily life, relationships, sleep, work, or your ability to care for yourself, therapy may be helpful. Therapy may also be a good next step if you feel stuck in guilt or self-blame, or if your grief feels overwhelming or prolonged. Most importantly, you do not have to wait for symptoms to feel severe to seek help. Therapy can provide support at any point after pregnancy loss and may also help with related concerns, such as anxiety, depression, relationship stress, or fear about a future pregnancy.

How can therapy help after miscarriage?
Therapy can offer a supportive space to process the grief, shock, anger, guilt, or numbness that may follow a miscarriage. A therapist can help validate the loss, support you in coping with painful reminders or memories, and reduce self-blame. Miscarriage and other forms of pregnancy loss can also increase the risk of mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). A therapist can help you understand your symptoms and provide targeted support based on what you are experiencing. Pregnancy loss can also affect relationships. Partners may grieve differently, which can lead to misunderstanding, emotional distance, or conflict. Therapy can help individuals or couples communicate more openly, understand each other’s reactions, and support each other through the loss.

What therapeutic approaches are used for pregnancy loss?
The best therapeutic approach depends on what the person is struggling with most. If trauma symptoms are a major concern, approaches such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR) may help people process distressing memories connected to the loss. If intrusive thoughts, guilt, or anxiety are the main concern, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) can help people identify painful thought patterns and develop coping strategies to manage them. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) can help people make space for painful emotions while reconnecting with their values.

Can couples therapy help after a pregnancy loss?
Couples therapy can be very helpful after pregnancy loss. Partners may experience the same loss in different ways; for instance, one person may want to talk about it often, while the other may cope by trying to move forward. These differences can create tension in a relationship, even when both people are grieving. A couples therapist can help partners better understand each other’s responses, communicate needs more clearly, and discuss next steps after the loss. This may include conversations about emotional support, intimacy, family boundaries, medical decisions, or whether and when to try for another pregnancy.
