Couples tell me all the time that they had a relationship that started out great, and had high hopes for the future, and now there’s more conflict, stress and overwhelm than they ever wanted. They are not sure the relationship can still work, but are willing to give counseling a try and don’t know what else to do.

My years of experience allow me to be the calm presence to quickly understand your challenges and to help you end "endless" arguing, to move through the pain of infidelity and to reconnect emotionally and sexually.
I firmly believe there is a definite quality difference between a marriage-counseling specialist and a therapist who "also" works with couples. My singular focus enables me to meet you where you are in your struggles and to work with you without judgment and never favoring either partner. I use the most-effective approach of Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy. This science-based method is a "brief" model, which means you may experience relief in the early phase of our work together. You'll learn about a "negative cycle" of arguing or distancing and how that cycle is your enemy, not each other!

I also work to help couples who have experienced infidelity.
Great Relationships aren’t great because they have no challenges or struggles. Great relationships are great because individuals choose to find a way to make the relationship work. Sometimes, that includes relationship/family counseling. As a family and relationship therapist, I am here to help you work through the many challenges and struggles that often prevent couples/families from moving forward. I believe in individualizing treatment to help each family member/partner feel heard and loved.

Do any of these situations describe you? (A) You never intended to end up here, but a line was crossed and now the truth of your hidden behaviors is out. (B) You used to be the guy who got things done, but lately, the engine has stalled. On the outside, you’re going through the motions, but inside, every single day feels like pushing a boulder uphill. (C) You’ve spent years burying the past, telling yourself that what happened back then doesn’t matter anymore. But lately, you’re realizing the past isn’t dead—it’s running your life.

You’re committed to your partner, but the trust and closeness you once shared feel out of reach. Communication has become tense or distant, and every attempt to connect seems to end in misunderstanding or arguments. You both want to be understood and valued, but somewhere along the way, it’s felt harder to meet in the middle and disconnect has grown. I help couples break these painful patterns — to rebuild trust, communicate with understanding, and feel like a team again. Together, we’ll slow things down, uncover what’s really driving the disconnection, and begin creating moments of closeness that feel genuine and lasting.

My therapeutic focus is relationships and attachment. For those healing from a relationship injury, I follow a structured process to repair, understand, and re-envision the future. The stresses of life can create conflict with your loved one(s) - I help couples and individuals learn their relationship patterns and practice communication skills in order to maintain connection. Some of this stress appears in conflicts about mental load/invisible labor in which I help couples anticipate and interrupt their negative cycles. I help couples untangle intimacy struggles and build a sex life that actually feels good for both partners.

Tell me if this sounds familiar— you and your partner aren’t seeing eye-to-eye on an issue. This turns into a frustrating argument with hurt feelings, and one of you wants to fix things right now, while the other wants a break. In the meantime, both of you feel unheard and are becoming more disconnected from each other. Maybe you aren’t struggling in a relationship, but you don’t have motivation or excitement in life. You have tried pushing through hard days, but it doesn’t seem to be working and you want a new path forward. Whatever your road to arrive on my profile, I am so glad you did. Let me explain how I might be able to help.

Infidelity Therapists
How does therapy for infidelity work?
A skilled infidelity therapist will provide a safe space for clients to communicate their feelings and concerns. The goal is to be completely honest about what led to the cheating and how it has affected the entire family to prevent it from recurring in the future. The therapist will help the clients work on rebuilding mutual trust and respect and developing better communication and conflict-resolution skills. If the goal is to remain a couple, clients will learn the “danger signs” for their specific relationship, and they will make a renewed commitment to be faithful.

How long does therapy for infidelity take?
Recovery from infidelity can take time, and it can vary from person to person. Generally, a therapist will want to see the clients at least once a week for around six months. Then the sessions can be arranged as needed, depending on the clients’ individual needs. While therapy may end or shift to an as-needed basis, it can take up to two years or more for some clients to fully recover from infidelity.

How does therapy help the partner who was cheated on?
When a client discovers their partner’s infidelity, their trust in the relationship and in the life they had together may be shattered. They often experience mental health symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, grief, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). They don’t always want to stay in the relationship; they may feel ambivalent or may even want to leave. Therapy gives these clients a safe and healthy way to communicate all of their complicated emotions and concerns.

How does therapy help the partner who committed infidelity?
Infidelity often occurs when one or both partners’ emotional needs are not being met in the relationship. Therapy can help this client understand why they cheated and figure out how to address those unmet needs without resorting to infidelity in the future. This can lessen (but not entirely eliminate) the risk of repeated infidelity. Clients who cheat may also feel intense guilt about deceiving their partners, a sentiment that they can work through in therapy.
