I use an attachment-based approach to provide couples counseling as well as to work with individuals working through relationship challenges.
I am passionate about helping individuals and couples who are navigating life transitions, relationship issues, anxiety, perfectionism, and unprocessed trauma. I have found that many people in the millennial and young adult age range are experiencing a very unique set of challenges these days, often struggling to prioritize their mental health. Having faced many of these challenges myself, I get what it’s like to walk in your shoes and hope to offer guidance and support in your journey towards healing.

My therapeutic approach is multimodal but especially focused on using cognitive-behavioral interventions from acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), as well as Adlerian play therapy, attachment-based family therapy, and other complementary interventions that have had good results in research studies.
Are you "stuck" in mental, emotional, or behavioral patterns that have become unworkable? You’re tired of feeling bad—whether it’s from depression, panic attacks, mood swings, or anxiety creeping into seemingly every corner of your life. It’s natural to want to eliminate or avoid the things that bring you distress, especially when life is stressful enough. But there’s a paradox: avoiding our problems often keeps us locked in them. The good news is that healing doesn’t mean you have to confront everything head-on or all at once. It’s a gradual process guided by you. You can get back to living your best life, however you define it.

Depending on what will best suit each person, I often use a combination of therapeutic approaches, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, EMDR, attachment-based, existential, and/or hypnosis.
Most of my clients are overwhelmed in all areas: mind (anxiety, depression); body (emotional eating, chronic illness); and soul (finding your passion).
In the first session, I help clients to prioritize their concerns. But once we begin therapy, clients are surprised that progress in one area often spurs on
progress in other areas. Perhaps the night-eating is related to your panic about an oncoming divorce that is related to your difficulty with finding a loved one who will cherish you, rather than chide you? Perhaps all of this angst—along with mood-enhancing foods (sugar, fat, white flour) set off an IBS flare?

Attachment-based Therapists
Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?
Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.
What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?
Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.
How long does attachment-based therapy last?
Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.
Does attachment-based therapy work?
Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
