I always start with where a client is and move through a process of self awareness and discovery that brings about lasting change and newfound joy. While that is not an easy process it is a journey I have found worth taking in my own life and feel honored to take in another's. I do not believe in a "cookie cutter" approach to recovery or self actualization. Each person I work with brings a special "psychological fingerprint" that encompasses both their past and their present life experiences. I look forward to traveling the path with you.

I work with adults, adolescents, and families who are ready to learn how to regulate their nervous system and gain self-compassion. Many clients struggle with shame, anxiety, ADHD, executive dysfunction, or feeling “stuck” in patterns that affect relationships and personal growth. I combine Narrative Therapy and Internal Family Systems (parts work) to help clients explore the stories they tell about themselves and the different parts of themselves that influence thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I want to help you understand how your brain works and how to improve executive functioning and emotional regulation.

First, I want to thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. I focus on creating an emotionally safe place. Safe enough to be vulnerable and lean into discomfort. Safe enough to create change that may be desired or needed. My style is direct, compassionate, and caring. When appropriate, I use humor, transparency, and my own quirky personality to help create a safe environment and vulnerability. It is the balance of being client-centered (meeting clients where they’re at) and encouraging change (which sometimes includes calling out BS or respectfully challenging when needed). Im currently offering in-person and telehealth.

Using trauma informed and strength based approaches, I integrate CBT, play and art based strategies, mindfulness, and solution focused tools to help young people build coping skills and confidence.
If your child is anxious, overwhelmed, or melting down more than usual, you may feel exhausted and unsure what to do next. School refusal, sleep struggles, big emotions, irritability, or constant worry can take over your home. You want to help, but nothing seems to calm things for long. You are not failing as a parent. Your child may simply need support learning how to regulate their emotions safely and confidently.

Art Therapy Therapists
How does art therapy work?
The process of making art allows people to express themselves. Art-making can take many forms, such as painting, collage, or sculpting. The therapist asks questions that the work elicits, such as how the person felt while creating their piece, or if any memories surfaced that they can discuss. The therapist will then work with the patient to process their experience, understand themselves better, and work toward change.

Does art therapy help with trauma?
Art therapy can be a valuable treatment option for those suffering from trauma. Traumatic experiences such as combat, rape, or childhood abuse can be so painful that articulating them can be too scary or painful; creating art allows people to express themselves without words, and tell their story in a different way. The physical nature of creating art can also help people feel rooted in the body, which may benefit those who feel disconnected from their body in the aftermath of trauma.

How long does art therapy last?
The duration of art therapy varies, but a common length for treatment is 10 to 15 weekly sessions. Some people may see improvement in just a few weeks, while others may choose to remain in therapy longer term. Patients should periodically discuss their goals with their therapist to make sure the two are aligned on process and progress.

What are the limitations of art therapy?
Art therapy is helpful for many people, but a limitation is that it doesn’t have as robust an evidence base as other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy. The evidence on art therapy is mixed; some research demonstrates its benefits, while other research suggests that it has little impact on patients.
