I work with individuals at the outpatient level as well as intensive options (group adult IOP, group teen IOP, and one-on-one intensives).
I specialize in treating children, teens, and adults with OCD, anxiety, or related issues. Individuals suffering with these disorders know how isolating and debilitating it can feel. I want to help individuals learn to change their relationship with their thoughts, break free from the constant mental loops, and ultimately live a life worth living. It can often be hard to find a therapist who understands and is passionate about treating OCD, yet this is absolutely crucial.

Are you considering therapy but have concerns about finding the "right" therapist or type of treatment? These are important considerations and the decision to seek therapy is a big step. The patient-therapist relationship is a critical component of therapy and it is important to choose as therapist that is a "good fit" for you. Every individual is unique with his/her own personal story and goals. Therefore, therapy must be tailored to the individual. I have training and experience in multiple therapeutic approaches (CBT, REBT, DBT, psychodynamic)

When your core beliefs surrounding faith and life itself get turned on their head, it can feel earth-shattering and leave you with a deep sense of grief or confusion. You're left feeling uncertain about what to do next while trying to find stabilization in life. Often we want to discover a renewed faith, but old, unhelpful beliefs continue to get in the way. What used to make sense to you just doesn’t make sense anymore.

Maybe coming to therapy is an easy, intuitive next step for you. You know and trust yourself to find just the right counselor. You know what you need from therapy to support your relationships, career/life satisfaction, self-care needs, or trauma recovery. I trust your inner wisdom and can’t wait to collaborate with you. Or, maybe you’re more tentative about this whole “therapy” thing. Life may have taught you that trust is precious–that reaching out for support could be dangerous. You may have even gotten the message not to believe in or advocate for yourself. Well, this might be a surprise: I also trust *your* inner wisdom.

I provide my clients insight, support, strength, empathy, compassion, and purpose as they walk down the road of recovery by helping them make sense of their world and turning their chaos into order. I operate from a Christian worldview and Biblical perspective although it is not necessary that my clients share my spiritual convictions. In Ancient Greek philosophy, "Logos" was a word that referred to the divine reason or the power that puts sense into the world making order instead of chaos. This philosophical concept is the foundation for my practice as I assist my clients with repairing their broken lives caused by addiction.

Great Relationships aren’t great because they have no challenges or struggles. Great relationships are great because individuals choose to find a way to make the relationship work. Sometimes, that includes relationship/family counseling. As a family and relationship therapist, I am here to help you work through the many challenges and struggles that often prevent couples/families from moving forward. I believe in individualizing treatment to help each family member/partner feel heard and loved.

I am passionate about the opportunity to work with clients to overcome emotional and life challenges and empower them to develop the skills necessary to improve emotional and physical health and live a meaningful, content, and fulfilled life. Addressing the root of most emotional conditions lies most often in resolving traumatic experiences and managing life stressors more effectively. The core issues are addressed by first identifying and acknowledging them, gaining a better understanding of their impact, and then reprogramming the mind and learning coping skills to better navigate life’s challenges.

My approach to doing psychotherapy is a contemporary psychoanalytic approach. This approach is a form of psychotherapy which helps patients heal through the safe, mutual exploration of previous life experiences and current life circumstances. More importantly, transformation in psychoanalytic therapy occurs through the participation by the patient in a relationship with the therapist in which the two partners, through their mutual exploration of life history, relationships, and the here-and-now experience of relating in therapy, come to help patients heal wounds, know themselves better, and lead healthier and more satisfying lives.

Teen Therapists
Adolescence can be a time of both disorientation and discovery. The transitional period can raise questions of independence and identity; as adolescents cultivate their sense of self, they may face difficult choices about academics, friendship, sexuality, gender identity, drugs, and alcohol.

Most teens have a relatively egocentric perspective on life; a state of mind that usually abates with age. They often focus on themselves and believe that everyone else—from a best friend to a distant crush—is focused on them too. They may grapple with insecurities and feelings of being judged. Relationships with family members often take a backseat to peer groups, romantic interests, and appearance, which teens perceive as increasingly important during this time.

The transition can naturally lead to anxiety about physical development, evolving relationships with others, and one's place in the larger world. Mild anxiety and other challenges are typical, but serious mental health conditions also emerge during adolescence.
