I am a cancer survivor and believe that the experiences in my life journey have led me to be an empathic and compassionate counselor.
I am currently only accepting clients for online therapy! You are the greatest project you will ever work on. Often times we make ourselves the last priority, but when you take the time to fill your own cup and heal from hurt and trauma, you free yourself up to experience peace. I am passionate about working with individuals & couples and creating a safe space for clients to be transparent and culture an environment for personal growth. I use an eclectic therapeutic approach to therapy including CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).

Life is full of opposition, loss, and uncertainty. However, we are ALL complicated, unique AND RESILIENT beings! Many times feelings of helplessness can prevent us from reaching our full potential. Therapy is a collaborative relationship where two or more individuals work together to bring light to life 's questions and unlock strengths we already hold inside... a judgement-free-environment to open up and explore new opportunities while healing and learning from life 's challenges. Overcome negative self-beliefs while creating your desired reality... journeys that ultimately lead to a state of wellbeing and overall contentment. AKA Whole Person Happiness!

Within each of us is a reservoir of inner wisdom that we often lose access to through trauma or challenging life experiences.
I like to say treat the person, not the diagnosis. I find that the relationship between client and therapist, as well as the style of therapy are the greatest indicators for a match between client and therapist. I approach my clients as whole individuals utilizing a holistic approach including Internal Family Systems, Somatic Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, Mindfulness, Hearthmath, DBT and CBT, amongst other evidence-based modalities. I offer a nonjudgemental approach, creating space for clients to explore their conscious and unconscious mind with the support of therapeutic tools that help my clients reach their therapeutic goals.

Currently accepting new clients. Life is an incredible journey. There are times that life events are overwhelming or feel as if they exceed our capacity. These events can lead to anxiety, depression or feelings of being stuck. This level of stress can result in problematic relationships, low self-worth or lack of progress.

At the core of the counseling process, is a relationship that is built on respect, empathy, highlighting the values that make your life worth living.
We are created for emotional connection. We want to feel safe, loved and understood by those closest to us. I believe this is the most motivating force in our lives and in our relationships with family, friendships, and work. Why should this goal be so tough to accomplish? Life seems to be ever more complicated, stressful. and farther away from us in values that we once treasured. For over 25 years as a practicing LMFT and LPC, I have had the privilege to work with couples and individuals to clarify goals, overcome fears, and to trust themselves to build healing and joyful relationships.

Depression;anxiety; grief; relationship strengthening & resolution of challenges; life -transitions; sexuality & gender-identity/expression (LGBT) exploration & development; career/vocational counseling; family-of-origin issues; trauma & the impact of trauma on current functioning; women's issues; spirituality; self-esteem; training & supervision; Animal-Assisted Therapy; Emotion-Focused Couples therapy; & EMDR.
I work collaboratively with clients to have an understanding of the events & issues in their lives. My approach to counseling includes a client-centered approach establishing a strong working-relationship. There are no "one-size-fits-all approaches" to address all problems with all individuals. As a result, I use a variety of approaches working with clients to meet their goals. I seek to understand the impact of a client's life -experiences, family history, personality, values, etc. on their development and relationships with others. I can work with individuals who have ambivalence about making changes & gain insight into problematic behaviors.

My practice is unique. I treat two groups of clients: One is very high functioning - the highly successful professional who wants to improve personal strengths, interpersonal interactions, relationships, and intimacy. The second set are those who have been struggling with a diagnosable mental or physical illness that has not been effectively managed. Both may need various clinical treatments which include therapies such as Interpersonal Social Rhythm Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (Couples & Family), Cognitive-Behavior Therapy (CBT) or trauma oriented skills such as Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Hypnosis, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) - Feeling-State Addiction Therapy, Relaxation & Mindfulness.

Do you struggle with wanting to change but don't know where to start or what to do? Life throws many challenges at us and it can be hard to cope with them. You may be holding on to old wounds that have traumatized you. Your family might argue a lot and wish they could just talk to each other. You may be a parent of a neurodiverse child in need of guidance. Or maybe you see the world differently than other people and don't really fit in. Whatever it is that brought you here, you deserve to be happy and in control of your life .

Unresolved relational issues. Past trauma that has begun affecting your normal routine. Marriage is going through a hard time. Family life is full of stress and conflict. Anxiety keeps growing and becoming more intense. These are all part of being human and being in relationship, and it’s OK to ask for help in the midst of them.

Life Coaching Therapists

What can I expect from life coaching?

Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.

Can a life coach help treat anxiety?

Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.

Can life coaching be done online?

Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.

How long does life coaching last?

Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
