You've lost sleep too many nights thinking about how this wasn't "the Mom I wanted to be." There are so many things on your mind to concentrate on, but what comes up the most is wondering if life will always be like this? Even though you care for everyone else in your life, you're unsure of how to take care of yourself - or where to even start. Maybe you were hoping you could talk to the people in your life, but "they won't understand" or worse there's concern they may judge you for it. After trying so many things and none of them lasting you've decided to do something different.

I work well with individuals (adults and children), couples, and families who are navigating emotional, environmental, and interpersonal challenges. My ideal client is ready to explore their thoughts, emotions, and patterns, even if it’s uncomfortable at times. They want to feel more in control of their emotions, improve relationships, and, ultimately, feel more confident in themselves. Therapy with me isn’t about quick fixes that don't address the underlying issue; it’s about real, lasting change. If you’re looking for a space where you can be yourself, be heard, and actually see progress, then we’ll work well together.

Some of the modalities are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Brainspotting, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy ( DBT), mindfulness, and psychoeducation.
I’m a therapist with over 10 years in direct practice and 19 years in the social service industry. My specialties are in trauma and relationships, and I am experienced in working with various populations on a variety of issues. Therapy is not a “one-size-fits-all” venture but one that requires an understanding of the person as a whole and then the ability to pull from a variety of modalities to help guide the person in their journey. Soy bilingue y tambien proveo terapia en Espanol.

Our sessions will draw from evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, ACT, and EMDR to help clients better understand patterns, manage emotions, and process past experiences.
You may be coming to therapy feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself. Your thoughts may feel heavy, emotions hard to manage, or self-doubt more present than you’d like. You might know something needs to change but feel unsure where to begin. Therapy can be a space to slow down, feel understood, and start moving forward with clarity.

Hello and welcome, searching for a therapist is a brave first step towards growth and change. I have a clear and proactive approach to therapy, focused on addressing the root causes of clients' challenges. I encourage open communication and provide a welcoming space for clients to explore their past experiences. This can be instrumental in helping clients understand the origins of their behaviors and work towards changing what's not serving them.

I draw from DBT, IFS, Somatic Therapy, and EMDR to find those lightbulb moments where things just click.
Has fighting with emotions, planning your day around triggers, or feeling distracted and overstimulated become part of your everyday life? Maybe it feels like you can't quite get things right and you're searching for a deeper understanding of what's holding you back. It can be difficult to keep moving, especially when you have frequent symptoms. In our sessions, we will dive deep to uncover the messages you have absorbed from other people and give your inner child some love. We will laugh, cry, and learn together, all while guiding you towards healing.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists
Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
