Generally, I use CBT-e to help stabilize ED behaviors, then add in IFS for parts work, ACT for those who prefer acceptance over disputation, and then ERP for OCD and CPT and somatic work for trauma.
Finding a therapist can be a daunting and overwhelming process. Then add the other mental challenges, barriers to treatment, and stigma, and it makes sense why it is hard to ask for help. Mental health concerns affect people from every culture and intersectional identity. Throughout my fourteen years of experience, I've discovered how each client is unique and when treated with their cultural/identity needs as a roadmap in the treatment plan, they can recover and thrive more quickly.

Many of the families I work with feel stuck. Their child struggles with focus, big emotions, anxiety, or feeding challenges, and progress feels slow despite strong effort and support. I work with kids and teens who are thoughtful, sensitive, and motivated to do well, but whose brains and bodies make everyday demands harder than they appear. ADHD, anxiety, and medical or feeding challenges can complicate routines, relationships, and confidence. I take a whole-child, evidence-based approach that integrates psychology, behavior science, and health.

I'm specially trained in OCD and Exposure and Response Prevention ( ERP), which I practice gently and at your pace, not fast or all at once.
You don't need to have a diagnosis, the right words, or a plan for what to say to start therapy. I work best with adults who are new to this, tried therapy once and it didn't click, or just take longer to open up. Many come in with thoughts that loop and won't quiet down, eating that happens faster than they can catch it, or a sense of always being a step behind. Together we slow down, name what's actually happening, and build a plan paced to you, so therapy starts working instead of feeling like one more thing you're failing at.

This may be highly structured protocols like CPT, ERP, or DBT.
Feeling overwhelmed can take a lot of forms. Sometimes things that previously seemed small can launch you into a full on panic. Other times, you may notice you find yourself crying while watching something completely mundane. Perhaps instead of being able to sleep, your mind races through everything you could not get done today, or every detail of a conversation while you evaluate your every action. Alternatively, you may leave every social interaction feeling anxious or angry, even though you cannot pinpoint why. Finally, maybe you felt so much, now you dont feel anything at all and everything that once brought you joy feels hollow

For my clients managing OCD, I use ERP.
I am a couples/relationship specialist with special training in OCD, addiction, and trauma. Relationships are hard; whether it’s anxiety tightening it's grip, trauma diverting us from the here and now, harmful communication patterns eroding trust, explosive fights, or slowly drifting apart, we all need support in building and maintaining the relationships we want. Here’s my approach; start by understanding the ‘what.’ What emotions/symptoms are you experiencing? Then connect the ‘what’ to the ‘why.’ Why are you feeling this way? Why is the past so impactful?

When it comes to OCD, I offer Exposure and Response Prevention ( ERP) as well as CBT.
Do food, weight, or body image thoughts take up more space in your mind than you want? Maybe you’re stuck in cycles of restriction, bingeing, purging, emotional eating, or compulsive exercise and no amount of “willpower” has fixed it. Anxiety, OCD, or past trauma may be fueling the constant self-criticism and intrusive thoughts that keep you trapped. You’re not broken, you’re stuck. I help teens and adults heal from disordered eating, OCD, and trauma so food no longer runs your life and freedom feels possible again.

I believe that this life is meant to be lived fully and freely in every moment. It is a simple concept, but sometimes so difficult to experience as our thoughts keep us held in the past or our fears spiral us into the future. You may feel completely trapped in a cycle of unhealthy thoughts and behaviors and sense you're losing control. Sometimes we struggle getting lost in heartache or pain and forget what life can look like on the other side. I have a genuine passion for coming alongside each person to help rediscover a full and free life with all of its wonders and difficulties.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) Therapists
Do I need exposure and response prevention therapy?
Many clients decide to seek help for obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors when these symptoms are distressing enough to disrupt everyday life. Any thoughts or behaviors that cause friction in close relationships are also worth addressing. In addition, the client’s symptoms don’t have to be severe for them to benefit from ERP therapy.

Is exposure and response prevention therapy part of cognitive behavioral therapy?
Exposure and response prevention is one specific type of CBT that focuses on behavioral change in response to triggering stimuli. It is related to exposure therapy but adds an additional component of preventing compulsive and harmful responses.

How long does exposure and response prevention therapy take?
While every patient is different, exposure and response prevention therapy typically lasts around 12 sessions, although some treatments can take longer. A therapist will determine if the treatment is complete based on how the client faces their fears, particularly the strongest ones. When a client feels less anxiety about stimuli that once evoked terror or distress, that is generally an indication that they are nearing the end of ERP therapy.

What are the limitations of exposure and response prevention therapy?
The most common pitfalls of exposure and response prevention therapy include not addressing a client’s core fears, allowing the client to avoid their most distressing stimuli, and using imaginary exposure when the client requires real-life exposure (and vice versa). ERP therapy is most effective when the client commits to the full course of treatment; if the client stops early or doesn’t practice what they have learned outside of therapy sessions, they are less likely to have successful outcomes.
