Hi, I’m Taelor, and I’m here to help you untangle the tough stuff. I know emotions can feel like a rollercoaster sometimes. I help kids, teens and young adults who feel “too much” or totally shut down learn real skills to handle big feelings, stress, and relationships. I use DBT to teach practical tools that actually work in daily life, and I mix in trauma-informed approaches like EMDR, play therapy, and parts work to make it creative, safe, and even a little fun. My goal is to help you feel more balanced, confident, and in control of your story.

Accepting New Clients: I understand how difficult it is when choosing a therapist; so I try to provide the most safe environment possible. My strengths are teaching people to use tools necessary to be more effective in their lives, relationships and find piece of mind. I believe safety and having a non-judgmental stance are among the most important aspects of the therapeutic environment. Even though it may be difficult to initiate the process of therapy, having someone assist you in making sense of internal confusion can result in insight and clarity that is often very difficult to achieve alone.

I’m a trauma-informed counselor who helps adults, teens, and families navigate anxiety, trauma, and the overwhelming stress of daily life. My work is warm, steady, and centered on nervous system healing, cultural awareness, and compassionate care. I support clients in understanding their emotional patterns, reconnecting with their bodies, and building skills that help them move out of survival mode. Many people come to me feeling exhausted by anxiety, family conflict, or old wounds that continue to shape their daily experiences. In therapy, we slow things down and explore what your body has carried, what your story has taught you.

I believe in the words of Eckhart Tolle, "If you get the inside right, the outside will fall into place." We all have stories and backgrounds that shape us and our perspectives on the world. We also have innate abilities within us to overcome obstacles to experience transformation, self-actualization and growth. What an honor it is to walk alongside my clients as they nurture and empower this inner strength by identifying and addressing the roots, by gaining acceptance and awareness, and by changing core beliefs and behavior, ultimately leading to a life filled with sustainable serenity, purpose and meaning.

Struggling with a chronic illness? Feeling overwhelmed by a cancer diagnosis or a cardiac event? Experiencing anxiety from life changes? Fear, sadness, uncertainty and a mix of other challenging emotions are natural but they can make getting through the day or even the next moment seem impossible. Priorities may shift. Life as you knew it no longer exists. You may feel alone. For some, the relationship with your body may change and that can decrease body confidence. While you may sometimes feel powerless, regardless of your life situation, you can chose to get support to cope.

Our daily lives can make us feel overwhelmed, stressed, frustrated, or that we are simply ‘going through the motions.’ Life can be messy, and sometimes we need a little extra support to keep going. I try to offer a space through counseling that is warm, comforting, safe, collaborative, and free of judgement. In person or online, we can work together to create new goals, understand your feelings and yourself more, and work towards feeling more in control. I am located in-person in the Uptown/Biltmore Phoenix area. I believe that kindness, empathy, learning, and compassion help to make sense of the world and create a better place.

Stories are one of the primary reasons why I chose to enter this profession and, while I have only been a professional for part of my life, I have been listening to peoples stories for a long time. I believe stories is where our humanity rests and stories display the full range of our complexity and connection as humans.

Burnout is not a personal failure, it is a psychological red light we have been ignoring. Resilience is remarkable but you also need to be able to express what is hurting you, in a safe environment, without judgment. I’m a licensed psychologist with extensive experience helping adults navigate anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, and the impact of stress and trauma. My approach is thoughtful, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based care. Mental health is not about fixing but to ask better questions and understanding yourself better, to reconnect with yourself and those around you.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
