Therapy is a time of challenge and change, sorrow and celebration. I strive to provide a climate in which my clients can truly explore themselves and their world. Regardless of technique, I believe that the greatest strength in treatment lies in a meaningful relationship between client and therapist.

Healing is the process of transitioning from a state of suffering to one of wholeness, serenity and peace. This process is intensely personal, with each person holding inside the answers they are seeking. My own experiences in therapy provided me with the insight that for inner peace to be achieved, one must have a soft place to land and a safe place to heal. By enlisting my help, you can achieve this inner peace using a variety of techniques cultivated over ten years as a trauma informed service provider. My approach is gentle, yet direct and focused on finding solutions, resolutions and making long-term sustainable change.

I believe people deserve to be treated with dignity—especially when they’re struggling. I don’t see you as a diagnosis, a charge, or a mistake. I see you as a person who has lived a life, made decisions, survived things, and is still standing. I’ve spent nearly three decades working alongside people who were often judged, misunderstood, or written off. That experience shaped how I show up today: grounded, honest, and focused on real change—not shame. When you work with me, you can expect straight talk and a safe space. I won’t sugarcoat hard truths, but I also won’t talk down to you or pretend I know your life better than you do.

You are on the right track: seeking out assistants, allies. Kind of depressed? Anxious? Troubles in your relationship? Feeling alienated or a loss of direction? There are lots of ways to describe it, and initially that's all I'll ask you to do. You'll have the freedom of a confidential discussion and a trained professional to help illuminate issues, set goals, and pursue your concerns. You may want insight into your situation. You may want tools. You certainly want results, and to develop some capacities that you haven't seen for a while. That works for me. And I offer clinical supervision to other therapists as well.

Have you ever felt emotionally overwhelmed, disconnected, anxious, or stuck in painful patterns that continue to affect your relationships, self-esteem, and daily life long after difficult experiences have ended? Many clients I work with are navigating unresolved childhood trauma, betrayal, divorce, chronic stress, attachment wounds, burnout, or chronic pain that continue to impact both the nervous system and emotional well-being. I help clients process unresolved distress at the root so triggers lessen, emotional regulation improves, and lasting change becomes possible.

My theoretical approach could be called person-centered cognitive behavioral therapy, I also use EMDR and specialize on trauma, stress (acute, critical incident, operational, chronic) depression, anxiety, moral injury, anger, work-life balance, sleep issues, burnout, and more.
I specialize in supporting first responders including public safety professionals, fire, EMS services, ER personnel, military and veterans. I also see civilians. Clients who come to me are tired of feeling on edge, overwhelmed or disconnected. They have been pushing through stress, anxiety, depression, trauma and burnout for too long and have seen things others haven't. They want clarity, stability and practical tools to manage their reactions without losing their edge. I offer a straightforward and culturally competent space where it is ok to not have to hold it all together.

Anger Management Therapists
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
