I Do Not accept insurance. As a trauma trained therapist, I offer a wholistic approach to therapy emphasizing a body, mind, soul and spirit focus. Experts agree that trauma can stay trapped wihin the body causing issues, while negative patterns of thinking and responding can create unhealthy, frustrating, stuck places.
EMDR
is a proven method which addresses all of these areas together. In addition, I work with clients who express an interest exploring a faith based perspective for healing. Therapy can be a safe place to work together to unwind the stuck places.

EMDR
, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and negative thought challenge are a few strategies to support your improved mood.
For too long now, you have put everyone first and constantly worry that you are not “enough” despite all you have accomplished. You sleep too little or too much as you rethink the conversation you had, or wish you had. You are filled with self-doubt. All of these feelings and negative self-talk have you lacking energy and makes you want to stay in bed rather than facing another overwhelming and exhausting day.

As an experienced trauma therapist, I believe that
EMDR
, along with other traditional talk/cognitive therapies, can help you reach your goals.
Trauma can leave us feeling lost, anxious, and disconnected from our true selves and from others. Being a new parent can sometimes trigger these feelings. You may be fed up with feeling down, low motivation or low self-esteem - you might not even remember a time things didn’t feel this way. Now, you’re ready for some relief. You’re ready to make some changes so you can feel better, more empowered. You’re ready to let the past stop affecting the present. It does not have to continue the old way, there is hope. If any of this sounds familiar, reach out for a free consultation and let's see if we're a good fit!

I am a certified
EMDR
therapist and provide a welcoming and supportive space for you to show up just as you are.
You look around and wonder, "why does everyone else seem to have it all together?" You work hard to present as such, which is exhausting, because deep down…you feel broken. You think there is something wrong with you. It's difficult to be in present moment. You have intrusive painful memories from the past or worry often about the future. You have big emotions that may seem to come out of nowhere, and the best solution seems to be to avoid or numb it all together. It feels easier to "check out" from life than to feel the pain that has been buried so deep. You are tired of feeling this way and wonder why you can't move forward.

Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.
Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.
What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.
What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
