I am completing training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing ( EMDR), an evidence-based approach shown to be highly effective in treating both acute and complex trauma.
As a Christian counselor, I come alongside individuals and couples navigating difficult life circumstances who desire therapy grounded in a biblical perspective. I am passionate about integrating faith with clinically sound counseling practices to support healing, growth, and resilience. I also bring unique insight into the culture and demands of public safety professions, and I have a particular passion for supporting first responders and their spouses—both individually and as couples—as they work through the unique challenges that arise from the realities of that calling.

I do have specialized training to use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for clients struggling with OCD as well as training in EMDR for issues related to trauma.
The single most important factor that determines if therapy will be successful is the relationship of trust. Your therapist should invest the time needed to truly know your story and to make sure that you feel safe and confident in the therapy relationship. Every individual comes to therapy with a unique personality and situation, so therapy should be tailored to meet the needs of the patient, not the preferences of the provider.

I integrate evidence‑based approaches such as ACT, EMDR, IFS, and Brainspotting through a culturally sensitive lens.
Life can feel unbearably heavy when you’re carrying pain no one sees. When worry becomes constant, and the pressure to meet cultural and family expectations leaves almost no space to breathe. I know that tension personally. As a first‑generation Asian American, I understand the quiet struggle of trying to belong in two worlds while feeling like you’re never fully enough in either. This is why I do this work. I support teens and adults who feel stuck in cycles of trauma, anxiety, depression, or self‑doubt to reconnect with themselves, not just to feel better, but to feel whole.

EMDR therapy and Internal Family Systems help individuals impacted by relational trauma to recover from stressful events and enjoy life.
What keeps you awake at 3 AM? Do you love someone who seems far away because of unresolved conflicts? Are you avoiding a challenge or nursing a fear by disappearing into social media? Yes, life and relationships are hard. We can discuss the distance between where you stand now and where you want to be, I will help you to harness your strengths to move you toward a better future. Our culture tells us real strength means “Get over it! (especially men!) Forget your feelings!" But our emotions don’t forget us. Like it or not, emotions are hard-wired in our brains and nervous systems.

I use evidence-based tools like CBT to renew the mind and EMDR to release trauma stored in the body.
You’re the one everyone relies on, yet inside you may feel overwhelmed, anxious, or exhausted. You may be a high-capacity professional, healthcare worker, therapist, or busy mom who feels like you should handle everything—but lately the weight feels too heavy to carry alone. You keep showing up for work, family, and responsibilities even while feeling burned out, stuck in survival mode, or weighed down by anxiety or past trauma. I specialize in helping people move toward healing and renewal. For those who desire it, I offer Christian counseling that integrates faith into the healing process.

EMDR Therapists
Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
