New Openings! I am passionate about supporting clients in overcoming trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, and life changes. I use a strength-based, non-judgmental, and trauma-informed approach to counseling. Many clients come to me wanting change because they are tired of feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood, and stuck. Some of my clients have done counseling before, but it didn’t go deep enough to understand and explore how patterns and experiences from the past are showing up in their lives now. I will work with you to determine the root cause of your struggles and use evidence-based approaches.

I am in-network with Aetna, BCBS, and United.
Motherhood is no joke! It can be lonely, scary, and overwhelming. One day leads to another and you’re exhausted, frustrated, and on edge. Scary thoughts never let up and leave you feeling like a bad mom. Everything is hard and no one seems to understand. People say annoying things like, "Enjoy every moment!" You wish you could, but it's just not that easy. The loneliness, anger, resentment, and guilt make everything harder and you're in survival mode. You might feel like you've lost your sense of self and wonder if you will ever feel like "you" again. The answer is YES! You're not alone. I understand, and I can help.

¡Hablo Español! Are you feeling overwhelmed trying to support your child or teen through anxiety, behavior challenges, or emotional ups and downs? Or are you a adult feeling stuck navigating stress, identity, or family expectations? Many of the clients I work with feel caught between wanting things to change and not always knowing where to start. For 15 years I have specialized in working with children, teens, young adults, and families navigating anxiety, emotional regulation, and relationship challenges. I understand how culture, family dynamics, and life transitions can shape these experiences.

I am in-network for BCBS, Cigna, and Aetna.
You might be an adolescent or young adult trying to navigate anxiety, self-doubt, or identity struggles. Maybe you're overwhelmed by your emotions, questioning your worth, or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you. On the outside, you may seem like you have it all together—but inside, you’re exhausted from trying to keep it that way. You want to feel more in control of your thoughts and emotions. You’re looking for relief, clarity, and a deeper understanding of yourself. You want to build confidence, create healthy relationships, and learn tools to manage stress without losing who you are.

I am in-network with BlueCross and BlueShield and Aetna.
Appointments available within a week……..….…………My clients are thoughtful, caring, and dependable people who are highly responsible and often carry more than their share. Even with strength and insight, they may be caught in patterns such as people-pleasing, perfectionism, over-functioning, emotional shutdown, or self-criticism. Together, we explore where these patterns came from, how they once helped them adapt, why they may leave them disconnected from themselves, relationships, or the life they want to create. I help clients recognize and change patterns, so they can respond with greater clarity, compassion, and confidence.

I believe therapy should be a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered. My approach is warm, non-judgmental, and collaborative - together, we’ll explore who you are, what’s important to you, and how to create meaningful change in your life. While difficult emotions like stress, sadness, or frustration may have brought you here, real transformation happens when you take that first step forward.

Welcome! I have been in practice since 2013 and have learned that by gaining understanding and compassion for ourselves, our innate healing potential will emerge. I love to help other professionals, and I am a AZBBHE clinical supervisor. A quote by Carl Yung summarizes my philosophy "Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will rule your life, and you will call it fate. " I use a "non-pathologizing lens" to see my clients holistically and help them make connections to how their past experiences have shaped the narratives and emotions they experience now. I am only taking new clients for KAP intensives, we collapse time!

My ideal client is motivated for change but unsure how to get there. They may be a teen struggling with emotional regulation, identity development, trauma, or emerging substance use; a young adult facing anxiety, transitions, or unhealthy coping; or a professional or athlete navigating high-pressure expectations, burnout, trauma, or performance blocks. They want balance, confidence, and control in their life and relationships, and are seeking support and practical strategies to manage stress, build resilience, and move toward a healthier, more fulfilling version of themselves.

Does insurance cover therapy, prescriptions and other behavioral health services?
In general, yes. Laws in the U.S. require insurers to cover essential behavioral health care at the same level as other health care services. Most health plans require a medical diagnosis and treatments that are evidence based and medically essential. This means that life coaching and alternative therapies are not covered, nor is therapy without a diagnosis. Call the number on the back or your insurance card or visit your insurance company's website to review your Summary of Benefits. If you have insurance through your employer, your Human Resources department may also be able to answer questions.

How much does therapy cost with insurance?
The cost of therapy depends on your region, how much training and experience your therapist has, and the type of treatment. The rate for talk therapy generally falls between $100 and $250. For a client seeing an in-network provider, the cost of therapy is often similar to the cost of other health care services. Clients pay co-pays and may need to satisfy a plan’s deductible before benefits kick in.

What is the difference between In-Network and Out-of-Network insurance coverage?
An in-network provider has contracted with an insurer to get paid directly for services, and to accept the insurer’s rate of compensation. Clients are responsible for deductibles and copays. If a therapist is out of network, that means that the client pays the therapist directly for services at the therapist’s regular fee. Out-of-Network providers often give clients a receipt so that they can file for partial reimbursement with their insurance company.

Is it difficult to find an In-Network therapist?
It is not unusual for therapists to limit the number of insurance patients in their practice, so it’s important to check in-network availability when you schedule your first appointment. In regions and times where therapy is in high demand it may take longer to get scheduled with an in-network therapist.

What is the difference between HMO and PPO insurance plans?
HMO health plans only cover in-network services, there is no reimbursement for out-of-network providers. PPO plans often cover both in- and out-of-network services, though the client may pay more for out-of-network services.

What is a Superbill?
A superbill is a receipt for therapy services. It provides all the information required by insurance companies to reimburse you for out-of-network services, including the diagnostic codes for your care, the amount paid, and the dates and duration of care.

Does insurance cover Online therapy?
Many therapists who shifted their practice to online therapy during the pandemic have kept that arrangement. And most insurers continue to cover telehealth services, with a few exceptions. Preventive care (such as an annual depression screening) is often required to be in-person to be covered, and some states require prescribers of controlled substances to see those patients in person.

Does insurance cover Group therapy?
Many insurance plans provide coverage for group therapy provided there is a medical diagnosis for group members, but there are some noteworthy exceptions. For example, Medicare does not always cover group therapy. Group therapy tends to cost less than individual therapy.

Does insurance cover Couples therapy?
Most insurance companies do not cover the cost of couples therapy because there is no medical diagnosis or medically necessary treatment. However, a few plans will offer a limited benefit, so it is still worth checking with your insurance company. Sometimes therapy is covered for a couple when one person has a diagnosis and another family member joins them for joint therapy, but it is considered therapy for the medical condition that includes a family member as a listener or helper, not couples counseling. Without insurance, most clients pay between $100-300 per 60-90 min session for couples therapy. Often clients can find classes or workshops that make it more affordable to work on their relationship. And some employers offer benefit plans that help defray the cost of couples therapy. Learn more about Insurance Coverage and Finding Affordable Therapy
