I often work closely with parents and children, teaching "tools" that help families function better.
In addition to working with children & families, I help women with particular issues, such as infertility, post-partum depression, breast cancer, assertiveness, and creating healthy relationships. All clients have the option of either short- or long-term guidance, depending on their needs and goals.

As an adult-diagnosed neurodivergent woman and parent to a neurospicy child, I recognize the beauty and struggles that come with neurodiversity.
Neurodiversity often comes with high intelligence, great creativity, hard work, and attention to detail but also can cause high levels of anxiety and stress, sensory processing and learning differences, communication difficulties, and the need for support and understanding.

We are not your average therapists! If you're looking for someone to nod their head in agreement with everything you say or for someone to just listen until "time is up," then this is not the place for you. We are an active part of your treatment. We focus on helping people find stability, life satisfaction and self-love. To do this effectively, means we offer insights and feedback, encourage you to dig deeper and challenge you. We're able to do this with care and compassion because we develop a strong therapeutic alliance built on mutual respect and trust. This is the foundation of what we do.

I hold several core values that guide my work with others. I believe mental health care should be easily accessible and affordable for all. I recognize that as humans, we share connected experiences and the need to feel connected with others. One of the most important aspects of therapy is the sense of validation and knowing you're not alone. My goal is to help clients engage in actionable interventions that we create together. I focus on building strengths and empowering clients to live in a way that feels like thriving, not just surviving.

You’re at a crossroads. You feel stuck—maybe in your career, your relationships, or just in life itself. You’ve done the thinking, the overthinking, the waiting for clarity to magically appear… but it hasn’t. What you really want is direction, confidence, and a sense of purpose—a life that actually fits who you are. You’re ready for a shift, but you’re not sure how to get there.

In therapy we learn to address problems we've been avoiding because they cause us pain or discomfort. For many, avoiding problems has become a problem in itself. You may experience issues with personal productivity, mood, traumatic memories, substance use, or social anxiety. These concerns can be distressing, but they are all manageable with the right skills. A great therapist, Carl Rogers, said “The curious paradox is that when I accept myself, just as I am, then I can change.” Therapy can help you learn skills to get this process of self-acceptance and positive change started.

My most enjoyable clients are children, I use my years of teaching experience with them and their parents to promote problem solving.
My approach to therapy is integrative and includes the mental, physical, spiritual, energetic and emotional components of healing. I am eclectic and use a variety of counseling techniques and bodywork modalities to match the client's needs and situation. My ideal client is one who has used traditional talk therapy and is 'stuck' in the loop of the mind and wishes to heal, change, grow or resolve and move on with life. Most conditions are improved by my approach, especially with those who are willing. I see couples for relationship counseling using a you/me/us approach. It works!

These can be healed and addressed with counseling while learning how to appropriately manage emotions through effective coping and healing of past traumas. Parenting Therapists
What does therapy for parenting look like?
Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.

When should a parent seek therapy?
When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.

How long does therapy take for parenting problems?
Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?
Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
