Congratulations on taking the first step on the journey toward healing, self-discovery, and growth! Often times, seeking support comes with a mixed bag of emotions and barriers, making it very challenging to even begin the process. We can easily become a product of our circumstances, getting lost in survival mode or our comfort zones, but life is too short to get stuck there and that's where I come in. Having navigated my own hardships and traumas, I know how complex it can be to recover, heal, and move forward. It is without a doubt one of the most challenging, yet rewarding, experiences and you are worth it!

Things happen to us everyday which impact and change who we are and how we though the world. My twenty-five plus years of working in this field with individual's of diverse ages, cultures and back grounds have proven this to be true. I believe my role as a therapist is to support others in identifying "their" purpose while growing their mental, emotional and physical health. The passion for supporting others in the process of gaining insight and identifying positive changes toward their future is "my" purpose.

You’re at the end of your rope. Stress from the world is forcing its way into your home, taking a toll on you and your loved ones. Finances have you on edge, wondering how you’ll make it. Differences of opinion are starting to tear apart your relationships. Anxiety is building, and your nights are spent tossing and turning. You’ve found comfort from prayer and scripture. You’ve gotten support from your spiritual leader. Friends and family have offered their advice. That has helped, but only to a point. You want to find solace in your faith and you need concrete tools that will bring harmony to your life and relationships.

As a Marine Veteran, I understand the strength it takes to keep going. But I also know that "sidelining" our pain to get the mission done can eventually leave us feeling tired, stuck, or divided. I use Parts Work to create a safe, welcoming space where every side of you—the protector, the survivor, even the parts that feel "broken"—is heard and respected. My goal is to help you move beyond just "getting by" so you can lead your life with a sense of wholeness and heart. You don’t have to fight yourself anymore. Let’s start the journey of coming home to who you truly are.

I enjoy working with adults and teens to overcome anxiety, frustration, depression, and relationship concerns. It is fairly typical for all of us to struggle at times with setbacks and disappointments. My goal is to help you identify and work on the unhelpful parts of your life so that you can improve, eliminate symptoms, and lead a more fulfilling life. Together we can create an environment that not only nurtures personal responsibility, success, and growth but also fits your personality, interests, skills, and preferences. I have personally witnessed the rapid progress that individuals can make during therapy.

Healthy relationships are important to everyone. My focus will be on building trusting, caring, and empathetic professional relationships as we work together related to what internal and/or external changes a person wants to focus on. As we work together, it's important to not only be communicating about what a person needs and/or wants are and then create goals and/or plans related to their changes.

My primary focus is emotional health and well-being by utilizing the Whole Person Concept. This enables clients to make great stride in personal transformation and gains in self-esteem, improvement in the quality of their life at work, in intimate relationships and with family, friends and overcome social anxiety. By utilizing the bio-psycho-social-spiritual approach and traditional cognitive behavioral therapy in helping to reframe the presenting problem, we discover new possibilities to cope with life stressors. This process may include Jungian psychology, dream analysis, creative visualization, mindfulness meditation and Art.

I started my journey in the mental health field in 2004 as a Behavioral Health Technician Intern while working on my Associates Degree in Social Work. As I felt limited in my duties I continued on to my Bachelors in Psychology which I received from the University of Arizona. During this time I worked for some community agencies and landed at a private rehab north of Tucson. I started out as a discharge planner and was quickly promoted to the lead in charge of the department. Again not satisfied with the limitations and a massive company lay-off I returned to school one last time to receive my Master’s Degree in Social Work from Ariz

I have been in the field of therapy/psychology for 30 years. I treat behavioral and mental health issues with an eclectic approach. One of my greatest passions has been the privilege of helping those who suffer find their way to healing, even after experiencing debilitating events and surviving unimaginable challenges. There are no zip codes exempt from suffering. There is no "one size fits all" approach. I would be honored to help you and be even a small part of your healing. I commend you for your courage to seek help. By doing so, I already know you are stronger than you realize.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
