You keep it all together for everyone else, but inside you feel anxious, disconnected, or on edge. I help adults heal the lasting impact of childhood trauma and emotional neglect so they can feel safe, connected, and confident in relationships. Together, we’ll identify the patterns that keep you stuck, regulate your nervous system, and create real emotional freedom.
These patterns aren’t your fault. They began as protection — shaped by early experiences of feeling unseen, unsafe, or not enough. Now, those same patterns block the closeness and peace you want most.

If you grew up with parents who put their own needs first, you may have learned early on to survive without emotional support. Now, you might find yourself repeating that pattern — in relationships where you're misunderstood, dismissed, or constantly trying to keep the peace.
Maybe you’re exhausted from trying to manage the pain with over-working, people-pleasing, or numbing behaviors. The anxiety and depression have become too loud to ignore.
I’m Cynthia Eddings, a licensed psychotherapist with over 30 years of experience helping people heal from narcissistic abuse. My own healing journey deepens the empathy I bring to this work.

I believe that people have the innate capacity for change. In life we are often dealt circumstances that are beyond our understanding and personal control. Many of these experiences distort our perception of who we truly are. My role is to collaborate with you to explore your past and reconnect you to your authentic self. People are natural storytellers. In our work together we will identify which parts of your story add value to your life and which can be altered to improve the way you understand yourself and the circumstances in your life.

A journey that looks inward and embodies, what I believe to be, fundamental aspects of life, which are Transformation, Adaptation and Acceptance. To reach this method of consciousness, it can’t be counterfeited, I live it. I came to discover that what I enjoy most is inspiring others and aiding them in finding their own way by unlocking their potential and discovering all the possibilities that lead to their specific and individual transformation.

If you’re feeling anxious, depressed, hopeless, or simply stuck and considering therapy, first congratulations. You’ve already taken a courageous step toward improving your quality of life. Change can feel overwhelming, even frightening at times. Yet when we avoid it rather than face it, we often remain in the very patterns that keep us stuck. I believe therapy is a collaborative process one built on trust, honesty, and intentional growth. My goal is not simply to offer surface-level coping strategies, but to support meaningful, sustainable transformation.

Individuals, families and couples come to therapy with the intent to find resolution to a perceived problem. Often we are aware of the problem but are unsure as to how to successfully navigate through it. Not feeling heard or validated impacts us more than we realize. Finding productive and effective methods of communicating our needs, wants and goals is paramount to happy and healthy relationships. Many of us do not realize that when our needs are not being met, we could become disillusioned, angry, depressed and left feeling unimportant. Each and every one of us deserves to be heard and feel validated, therapy can help with that.

Women's Issues Therapists
How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.
How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.
How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
