Using Somatic Experiencing, attachment-based therapy, and parts work, we’ll help your nervous system learn safety, not just talk about it.
You keep it all together for everyone else, but inside you feel anxious, disconnected, or on edge. I help adults heal the lasting impact of childhood trauma and emotional neglect so they can feel safe, connected, and confident in relationships. Together, we’ll identify the patterns that keep you stuck, regulate your nervous system, and create real emotional freedom. These patterns aren’t your fault. They began as protection — shaped by early experiences of feeling unseen, unsafe, or not enough. Now, those same patterns block the closeness and peace you want most.

Treatment may include EMDR, ERP, IFS, somatic therapy, and ACT, to process experiences, understand patterns, and build regulation skills.
If you’re here, you might be feeling stuck. Maybe you understand where your patterns come from, but that insight hasn’t actually changed the trauma responses, intrusive thoughts, emotional numbness, or coping strategies that don’t feel helpful anymore. That can be exhausting. I offer therapy that’s compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in helping your nervous system feel safe. We’ll explore the protective patterns that once helped you survive, process difficult experiences at your pace, and create space for reflection.

****I AM CURRENTLY CONDUCTING SESSIONS BY TELEHEALTH ONLY****I believe that you are utilizing the best coping skills you have available at any particular moment. Sometimes, despite best efforts, you might get stuck. You might feel like you have approached a problem area from all angles. Prolonged stress can make matters worse. It is not uncommon for life to feel, "out of balance." My philosophy is to try to re-gain balance. To feel like all parts of your life are in sync. Further, I believe that true happiness is possible once you reach your highest potential.

I utilize a variety of methods, including cognitive, creative, and somatic to integrate mind, body, and spirit to lead to a more whole and complete sense of self.
I truly love working with parents. Through my years as a teacher, foster parent, play therapist, and mother, I know how children can bring out the worst and best in each of us. Drawing from an attachment perspective, I work with parents to uncover current, past, and generational traumas to get to the roots of unhelpful coping patterns.

Are you going through a difficult season that has left you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of how to move forward? Having a place you feel safe enough to be honest and human can help bear the weight of painful experiences. Although safety is key, therapy at times can be uncomfortable in order to challenge growth. As a therapist, I work alongside you in order to gain insight around unresolved pain, clarify values that provide meaningful change, and challenge long-term growth.

I specifically utilize somatic-based modalities (work with the body) to help inform the next right step in therapy.
You've always carried so much for your family, and in many ways are considered a trailblazer. Your family came to this country, and life growing up was complex for you as you navigated barriers, culture, your own self-doubt and shame for creating a different path, or wanting something different. It's getting harder to live in both worlds...what will my (insert here: family, friends, community, children) think of me? Meanwhile, you are noticing it may be harder to sleep, body pain where there was none, more frequent headaches or instrusive thoughts, restlessness...and you are here just seeking some relief and a path forward.

Fortitude can be cultivated through adversity; and while life experiences are chapters in our story, they do not define who we are or how the story must end. The passion I have for reflecting light and empowering others to see their authority and their gift is rooted in my personal story and testimony of resilience, despite adversity. I have witnessed and experienced the power, meaning, and value of commitment to growth and healing and I firmly believe in the therapeutic process and its results. We all deserve the opportunity to see a reflection of our inner strengths and experience a sense of empowerment in our healing and growth.

Somatic Therapists
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
