My clients achieve practical, reliable tools to overcome anxiety and depression. Many are mothers who value my deep understanding of their unique challenges—shaped by my experience raising a large family. Others come to process the lasting impact of trauma or loss, work through their pain, and rediscover a sense of joy. Having lost both of my parents within four months, I understand the profound cost of love and the depth of grief that follows. This experience has also led me to offer home visits for clients with limited mobility. I’m especially passionate about helping people build strong self-esteem and meaningful life stories.

I provide a safe, supportive environment that helps clients connect to and feel their feelings. Sadness, anger, fear, and joy are all okay. The roots of how and what we feel lie in what we experience very early in life, pre and perinatally. I work with clients experientially so that they can get back in touch with their heart/essence/goodness. I work with clients who have lost touch with those things. I work with clients who may have trouble grieving or expressing anger in healthy ways. Clients' answers are inside themselves. When they feel safe enough, they can begin to reconnect to themselves and find their answers.

I am a trauma-informed couples therapist and use evidence-based methods like Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy to address both what’s happening now and the experiences you may be bringing into the relationship without even realizing it.
No matter how many times you have the same argument, you and your partner can’t seem to get through to one another. You care about each other, but these days you can’t talk about anything without it turning into a fight. A comment about chores or finances spirals out of control, and somehow you both end up feeling misunderstood, criticized, and alone. Maybe you’ve already tried couples therapy—maybe more than once—without success. It’s left you both wondering why no amount of talking has changed the cycle you’re stuck in. I believe with the right tools and a willingness to do the work, there’s hope for your relationship to heal.

With over 15 years of clinical experience, I have supported individuals and families navigating complex and deeply challenging life circumstances. My work spans all levels of care, specializing in eating disorders, addiction, trauma, and relational distress. Early in my career, I explored the underlying origins of these struggles. A consistent pattern emerged, revealing the impact of early developmental disruptions and unresolved family wounds. This insight marked a pivotal shift in my approach, moving beyond symptom management to addressing the root causes of pain and fostering lasting, transformative healing.

Emotionally Focused Therapists
Who is emotionally focused therapy for?
Emotionally focused therapy (EFT) is for couples who are emotionally distressed, stuck in an unsatisfying relationship pattern or feeling deeply alienated. They may even believe the relationship is beyond repair. Very often, the partners display intense anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal in the relationship. In addition, EFT is helpful to couples and individuals who have difficulty expressing emotions and those who have trouble regulating emotions.
Why do people need emotionally focused therapy?
People need emotionally focused therapy because the need for others is built into the brain, but the pressures of daily life can erode feelings of love, and couples often do not have the skills to find their way back to the comfort of each other. Instead, they may be stuck in repetitive patterns of anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal. Emotionally focused therapy regards such strong negative feelings as expressions of protest over the loss of connection and turns them into pathways of reconnection.
What happens in emotionally focused therapy?
Over the course of eight to 20 weekly sessions, couples de-escalate their negative emotional reactivity to one another so that they can listen to each other and be responsive to each other’s needs. Then the deep emotional and physical bond is restored, giving partners a sense of comfort and security, which they can use to solve whatever problems come their way. The therapist plays an active role, helping partners understand how anger and withdrawal are actually misguided cries for connection.
What problems does emotionally focused therapy treat?
EFT is designed to help couples stuck in dysfunctional relationship patterns regain closeness and rebuild their relationship. Typically, such couples experience considerable distress, with partners feeling alienated and distrustful of one another, not certain their relationship can survive. EFT is also helpful to individuals experiencing attachment-related fears of loss; it helps them learn to use their fears as a way of eliciting the closeness they desire.
