However, I have found that ACT, IFS, MI and psychodynamic modalities complement each other and often help clients see progress and find hope by building resiliency and self-compassion.
Whether you’re navigating a life transition, working through past trauma, or struggling to manage anxiety, relationships, or addictive patterns – therapy is a space where real change can begin. I help teens, adults, couples, and families explore what’s holding them back and build the skills and insight they need to move forward with more clarity and confidence.

Treatment may include EMDR, ERP, IFS, somatic therapy, and ACT, to process experiences, understand patterns, and build regulation skills.
If you’re here, you might be feeling stuck. Maybe you understand where your patterns come from, but that insight hasn’t actually changed the trauma responses, intrusive thoughts, emotional numbness, or coping strategies that don’t feel helpful anymore. That can be exhausting. I offer therapy that’s compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in helping your nervous system feel safe. We’ll explore the protective patterns that once helped you survive, process difficult experiences at your pace, and create space for reflection.

If you’re feeling anxious, worn down, or lost, you’re not alone. Many people come to therapy because they’re managing day-to-day, yet still feel disconnected or unfulfilled. Therapy can be a place to slow down, reflect, and work toward creating a more meaningful life.

I work with adults in Tempe and throughout Arizona who feel stuck in relationship cycles, overwhelmed by anxiety, emotionally disconnected, or navigating life transitions that feel heavier than expected. Many of the people I sit with are thoughtful and self-aware, yet still notice patterns that feel difficult to shift. While anxiety, overthinking, emotional distress, or relationship struggles may bring someone to therapy, our work often goes beyond symptom management to better understand what’s underneath and driving those patterns and to help you move through life with more clarity and self-trust.

I have a skills-based approach, utilizing CBT and ACT models to give you the tools you need to look at new perspectives on your challenges.
Life is filled with challenges. It is not uncommon those hurdles you once were able to jump over, now seem unattainable to tackle. These challenges can leave us anxious, depressed or with a sense of loss. Grief and loss can feel heavy and isolating. Life transitions and change can be difficult to adapt to. Seeking support in someone who can truly listen and provide neutral guidance can make a large difference in how you navigate the crazy ride we call life.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
